Love Never Lasts

I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping.

"Good morning" jared said handing me a coffee.

"Good morning to you too." I said taking it and taking a sip.

"Are you exited for today?" He asked. Today was the day I graduated... And also the day my father died

"Yeah... Are you?"

"Hell yeah! Its the day we leave that hell hole!" He said laughing.

I really am not looking forward to going. I mean it doesn't feel right to be celebrating the day that my father passed away.

"Cheer up!" He said wrapping his arms around me from behind me.

"You know it's hard for me to be on this day. He looked down then look back up.

"Just try to cheer up it's our last day of being at the campus"

"Ill try"

we got in the car and drove to school
We saw our friends and family cheering as we sat waiting for our names to be called

"Tyler Shinnok will you please come up and receive your diploma ,Charles inkling, Winter Blackwood, Jones LaSalle"

After the ceremony we went home to a party.

"Congrats!" My aunt said hugging me.

"Thanks" i left without anyone knowing, to the only place i really wanted to be at... With my father.

"Dad... I love you so much... I really wish you were here with me..." I began crying as I said those words. I sat at the grave of my dad.

"I really miss you dad" I felt the wind lightly blow in my direction then a leaf lightly fell on my lap. It was a pretty big leaf, about the size of my hand.

I played with it then it flew out of my hand. I got up and smiled at my father's tombstone. "I love you"

I said getting up. I walked to the exit.

I got in my car and drove off to the house.

Tomorrow was my birthday and I just wanted to lay in bed and rest but my mom, and Jared insisted that we do something

"I'm not taking no as answer! We're going to do something and you're gonna enjoy it!" She said pinching my cheek.

"Fine!" I pouted. They both smiled at each other knowingly.

I layed on my bed and stared at my ceiling then slowly my eyes shut and off I drifted to dream land.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you, you look like a monkey and you act like one too!" I woke at the sound of Jared and mom singing that annoying song!

"Can't I just sleep?" I complained as I put a pillow over my face.

"No, now get up! You have a busy day!" I slowly got out of bed and went to brush my teeth.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty..." Jared said whispering into my ear as he hugged me from behind.

"Good morning to you too" I said spitting out the paste.

After breakfast we went out to the circus which was extremely fun! Then we went to get ice cream which is where we are right now.

"Well, I have to go to the ladies room I'll be right back!" My mom said and I noticed that she winked at jared.

"Want some if mine?" He asked.

"Sure, you want some of mine?"

"Sure" we exchanged ice creams and tried them.

"Here" he said giving it back to me, but he accidentally got some on my nose.

"Hey!" I said rubbing it off.

"Winter... You're so beautiful... I want you to know that I really love you" he said with a serious face.

"I love you more" I said kissing him. We then got up since mom was out and we had to get back home.

I then realsed that she had a camera in her hand. What the?

I then saw jared kneel down in front of me. I immediately covered my face from embarrassment and shock! I slowly began crying, but not from sadness this time, but from joy.

"Winter, will you marry me?"

"Yes... Yes I will!" I then began crying full out. He put the ring on my finger and hugged me close. I felt the heat off him body radiate off of him. I looked into his blue eyes and saw a happy future.

"I love you Winter" he said with that killer smile.

"I love you Jared" I said as he leaned his head down and kissed me. I heard my mom saying yes, over and over again as she danced.

Finally... Its a week away from my wedding! I can't believe that I'm getting married! I just want to cry at the thought!

I was on the phone with Jared, since he just got off work

"Mom, Jared wants to know what you want to have for dinner, he said he's bringing us fast food!"

I said as I pushed the phone a way from me as I spoke.

"Oh honey, tell him Chinese, I really want to try orange chicken!"

I told him what she wanted and he said he was on his way to a nearby Chinese place.

"I love you" he said with his deep handsome voice.

"I love you too" I said hanging up the phone.

We sat in the living room waiting for Jared to get home.

"I'm starving!" I said as I fussed on the floor. Its been an hour and he's still not here. Maybe he's in a traffic jam or something.

Another hour passed and I knew that something wasn't right.

"Mom, has jared called? I'm beginning to get worried" just then the the house phone rang.

I raced to the phone and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Its this the Blackwood residence?"

"Yes, who am I speaking with?"

"I'm sorry to inform you, but Jared issad was in a car accident this evening, and unfortunately he passed away in the hospital thirty minutes ago" I dropped the phone.

"What happened? Is he not bringing Chinese?" My mom asked.

I couldn't respond. My body felt numb. I couldn't hear anything anymore. Just my heartbeat.
I realized that I had been crying. My body fell to the floor and then everything went black.
