The Potters and Teddy Lupin

Teddy feeling left out most of his life because every older woman he's around remarks how much he looks like Tonks and talks like his dad and then just as he's warming up to them they start pushing him away for exactly that reason, or they'll get a sad look in their eye when they see him.

Everyone but Ginny Weasley

Teddy purposefully changing his hair to the color of whoever he wanted to hold him.

He changes it to red most often and they all pass him around, but know he'll most likely end up snuggled on Ginny's lap.

Well, except for that time his hair turned half black half red, which caused Harry and Ginny to awkwardly fumble about because they're still in that slightly awkward pre-relationship thing.

But seriously, he won't shut up until they're both holding him at the same time. Which causes the Weasley boys to glare holes through Harry's head because they're all secretly planning to 'talk' to Harry after dinner.

Ginny making a silent promise to Tonks that she'd take care of the boy until she died.

Teddy asking for Ginny whenever he falls and hurts himself because she gives him candies and lets him play on Harry's super big desk he keeps in the attic of the Burrow.

Teddy and Ginny falling asleep on the couch like a mother and her son would do.

Molly Weasley trying to see how her rebellious daughter managed to become the only thing that calms a two year old with the same rebellious streak.

Teddy loving his Nan, but she always acted like it hurt to see him change his hair or even walk around the house with his Wolfie stuffed animal. She was always his Nan, but never his mum.

Teddy crying when he found out what happened to his parents from reading a war anniversary declaration from the newspaper. Ginny ignores how you were supposed to stay home on these days with your family, and the Floo network is closed for that day and she can't Apparate until she turns seventeen in a month and she literally does everything she can to get to the poor child until finally Harry manages to get her there with a lot of persuading.

Ginny rapidly becoming Teddy's mother figure, even though she'll never be his real mum, but she was close enough to where he felt like he was alright.

Ginny telling him stories about his parents and tickling him every time something scary happened so he wouldn't get too frightened. But there wasn't much you could do to prepare a child for that post-war stuff.

Andromeda passing away from old age, and before she died she switched custody of a four year old Teddy to go from Mrs Weasley to a young Ginny Weasley, should she want to keep the child.

Ginny not blinking an eye when she sees this, only beaming at the small child and accepting immediately.

Teddy was the reason Harry got up the courage to propose to Ginny, because Harry wanted to make sure the boy had a good father figure as well, and besides four years of dating was a long time, and he loved her more than anything.

Harry slowly becoming Teddy's father figure, and making sure the boy knew how good of a man Remus Lupin was.

The first time Teddy called Harry and Ginny 'Mum and Dad' was at his Muggle school meet and greet, but the two made sure he knew they weren't really his parents, even if he needed to call them that so he didn't sound like a charity case at school.

He slipped up once more during Christmas, which caused Harry and Ginny to blush furiously as the Weasley's plus Hermione fell into stitches of laughter.

Teddy being the ring bearer at Harry and Ginny's wedding and keeping his hair bubblegum pink the entire time.

Ginny doing funky dances with Teddy during the wedding reception so he doesn't get bored.

Teddy counting the days until Harry and Ginny get back from Italy so he can show them how many good grades he made on his tests while they were gone and how he'd made friends with Bill's daughter, Victiore who he referred to as 'Vicky'.

Teddy officially moving in with the two as soon as they get back.

Ginny and Teddy spend Christmas Eve night staring at the fireplace and drinking hot chocolate while talking because by Merlin they're going to catch that jolly fat dude this year.

Harry usually ends up having to come downstairs around four in the morning to carry the two to bed. Though he's careful not to wake either his wife or a five year old Teddy.

Teddy asking Harry how babies are made and him furiously blushing as Ginny smirks in the corner. "Yeah, Potter, how're babies made?" "Shuddit, Ginevra."

Teddy and Ginny insisting on making Harry pancakes on his birthday, but end up starting a food fight which stops when Harry comes downstairs, slings Ginny over his shoulder and prances around the living room, getting flour everywhere while Teddy laughs his socks off.

When Ginny finds out she's pregnant, Teddy is confused until he's talking to her and lays his ear against her stomach and can faintly feel a kick and immediately thinking that meant the baby didn't like him and being upset for a week until Ginny remarked how good of a big brother he'd be.

Teddy being determined to be the best big brother he could because this was his family, and this was his only chance at having siblings, even if they weren't biological.

Teddy succeeding in being the best big brother James, Albus, and Lily could ask for.

Ginny still spending time with Teddy even though she's got a four year old, a two year old, and a barely one year old baby.

Ginny almost crying when Teddy leaves for Hogwarts because this is going to be the longest she's ever really been away from him, and the two sharing a long hug before Teddy literally has minutes until the train leaves.

Ginny doing the same with each of her children, and always makes sure Teddy remembers she loves him like her own son, no matter how old he gets.

Ginny getting hurt while shopping in Diagon Alley because rogue Death Eaters still attack every so often, and they always go after her because she's Harry Potter's wife and he'd be ruined if she died. Teddy going straight to McGonagall and threatening to walk all the way to St Mungos if they don't let him and James go see their mother/adoptive mum.

Ginny being fine, but Teddy, James, and Albus not letting go of her because they're the only ones that realize how bad things could have gone.

When Teddy gets his first girlfriend, Ginny smiles knowingly because she knows he only has eyes for Victoire Weasley. And sure enough, he ends up with the part Veela in his sixth year.

Ginny doing everything in her power to be the best mum she could ever be, because the poor boy needed her to show him how his own mum would have been.

Ginny crying at Teddy's wedding because she remembers the day Andromeda walked in to Hogwarts with a blue blanket and wide eyes, searching for her daughter and son in law but not finding them. Ginny crying because she practically raised that kid and now he was up there at the alter, about to become a husband and she realized he wasn't that little boy that was practically glued to her hip anymore, he was a young man about to start his life journey with the love of of his life.

Ginny keeping the promise to Tonks, and reminding Teddy everyday that his mum was a wonderful woman, and though Ginny thought she would never compare, Teddy knew that he had the best adoptive mum ever.
