Oh my god. Seriously, People? Shane, now is honestly not the time. Serena, obviously understanding that this situation could blow up at any minute, ran to the door.
"What the f**** do you want?" she shouted through the door.
"Wait, Serena? Is that you?" he asked, confused.
"No, it's God you fool, and I'm here to punish you for you countless sins. Of course it's me! What, you thought I'd be holed up in my room just 'cause you broke up with me, and saw this as the perfect chance to swoop in and steal my best-friend? Ha!" she exclaimed, getting riled up.
"Uh, no... Well, I - look, I just need to talk to her. Please?" Shane begged.
"I'm coming!" I yelled, hoping that he wouldn't see the handsome Southern boy leaning against the wall next to me. I ran next to Serena and slipped through the door, opening it as little as possible and closing it shut quickly.
"You wanted to see me?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Yeah, I just wanted to see if... maybe, you haven't given up hope on us yet?" he said, tentatively.
I snorted, "There is no us. There's never been an us. You took me out for some burgers. That's chill. But breaking up with my best friend, and smushing her heart during that period of time? Not cool, man. It's me and Serena, always has been, and always will be. Now, please, get out, and don't show your desperate face here again," I said with a monotone voice.
He stared at me for a few seconds, then turned around, bounded down the steps, and left.
"Savage...," said Serena at my shoulder. I smiled, and side-hugged her.
"Yeah, well, he got what he deserved." I said, and we walked into the house to deal with Mr. Hot Guy.
