I'm dreaming, it's a weird dream. Like an out of body experience.

I'm in a bed, it's a four poster bed, the covers are white silk by the looks of it. However I lay on top of them. I'm lying on my back with my arms by my side and my hair sitting perfectly on one shoulder in waves. I look so angelic sleeping there. I'm not in my usual sleeping clothes though. I'm in a white nightgown, it looks like something from a old Dracula movie. As I think that the window opens about the bed frame. The moon in the sky has never been more clear. The moonlight shines on my face and I feel... I don't know what it is.

Then emerges a pair of groggy, grey disgusting hands that slide down the from the window, onto the pillow next on my head and takes a hold of my locket around my neck. The hands are choking me. I gasp for air, in a way I try to shout for someone, however the hands are winning. I think I'm... I'm....

I scream and jolt up in bed. My comfy double bed. Not a four poster.

My sheets are blue cotton, not white silk sheets.

I'm in my baggy pyjama top and shorts, not a Dracula freak nightgown. It was just a dream. Nightmare more like but still. It was weird. The way it felt, it was almost like it was actually strangling me with my own...

In a panic I rip the necklace off my neck and chuck it across the room. It makes a loud whack as it hit the floor.

I look around, my room is dark and quiet. I want to turn my bedside lamp on however the electricity is out so it would be no use. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair, that was a weird nightmare. I haven't had nightmares since I was a kid. And een then it was about silly things, like monsters under my bed or in my closet. I had learned from then, there is no such thing as monsters.  I smiled at myself, I was over reacting. It was a stupid dream.

At that moment of thought the door burst open and I scream, "Hands off my bestie!"

I realize it's Harper and laugh, "Harper it's only me. I just had a bad dream."

I burst out laughing, honestly she scares the life out of me.

She kicks the door in frustration, "You scared the shit out of me."

I laugh and yawn, "What time is it?"

I flop my legs over the side of the bed and place my freezing feet on the cold floor, looking for my blue checked sleeping gown in complete darkness. "Four A.M. I've been up for at least an hour."

I find my dressing gown and slide it on, "Why?"

She sighs, I can't see a thing so I don't know what she is doing. "Nightmare."

I stand up and hold my hand out to walk, we have some candles in the hallway so I see the glare form the door frame. "How about we get a glass of water or something."

I say something because Riley, our hero, managed to get a back up generator or something. So we're only using it for our fridge and freezer.

I bump into something, "Hey! Back up Amy."

I laugh and guess my way around Harper and leave the room. When I leave I stand next to the table with a few candles on it and wait for Harper. I yawn and rub my eyes, I can't sleep but I'm really tired. The life has been sucked out of me by my mother, however I've been scared out of my skin.

Maybe I should get a glass of milk, I always fall asleep with a glass of milk.

Harper taps my shoulder, apparently I was daydreaming again. She looks tired as hell.

Her eyes have bags forming, her hair messy and her pink unicorn pyjama's are wrinkled. She yawns and I can smell the milk and morning breath already. "Wow, you look very tired for someone who has only been awake for an hour." I say and try and make my way down the stairs. It isn't actually a problem since it's curved stairs and the candles for the first and second floor are giving enough light to see our way around. But still I'm tired.
