Will’s POV

“That’s what makes you beautiful!” I hummed, dancing around the empty hotel room. Jess had gone for a swim and I had decided to watch a reality show instead.

The door slammed. I looked up and stared as Summer, tears-stricken, entered the hotel room, gritting her teeth and clenching her fist.

She glared around the room next, before noticing me and collapsing on the floor, sobbing.

I put down the remote controller and ran to her side. “Summer? What’s wrong?”

I moved her onto the bed and sat beside her, combing her messy hair as I comforted her and asked for information on what made her so upset.

“Jess… Where’s Jess?” she shrieked, glaring at Jess’ bed.

I frowned, puzzled. “Swimming. Why?”

“She… She told Niall that I was dating Harry for fame, for money. And Niall told Harry. Harry seems to believe her anyway and wants a break up,” she sobbed, covering her face with her hands.

I gasped, shocked. So that was why Jess was talking to Niall the other day!

I gulped. “Summer… There’s something you should know…”

She looked up, curious.

“Jess… likes Harry, and I think she did that to… break you two apart.”

Summer’s POV

“WHAT?!”

My best friend, from when we were ten, had wanted to break my boyfriend and I apart? Why?

“She’s furious at you, Summer. She doesn’t understand why you always get the guy. In the past, every guy you dated, was someone she had her eyes on. Now, she can’t stand it anymore.”

“So that’s why she’s so furious whenever she sees Harry and I together.”

“Yes,” Will replied.

I’m going to go look for her.

I waited impatiently on the swimming chair as Jess swum lap after lap. She didn’t know I was here.

I prayed that she would come up soon. It was getting cold.

A few minutes later, she got out of the pool and walked over to the swimming chair with her towel. I got up and went over to her then.

She saw me and turned, narrowing her eyes. “Why are you here, Summer?”

I glared at her. “I know what you did, Jess.” I gritted my teeth. The anger in me disappeared as I continued staring at the girl in front of me, my best friend since ten. It was replaced with hurt. “Why? Why did you want to tell Harry false stories about me to break us up? Why?”

Her eyes darkened and she moved towards me. “Because. I’m fed up with you! I’m fed up with the unfairness in life. You always get the guy I like, and I don’t understand why I lose to you! You’re not prettier than me, richer or funnier. We’re the same. Yet, I always lose in relationships! This time, I told myself that I couldn’t lose.”

I breathed heavily as she poked my shoulder blades, spitting out her words.

“You know why? Because, I spend hours of my life, stalking Harry Styles. I spend all my money, buying their album, their merchandise. You did nothing! And yet you got him! You don’t even deserve him, Summer. You never will.”

Her words confirmed my thoughts.

I really didn’t deserve him, did I? Jess was right. There were so many directioners out there, fangirling over him, spending so many hours and money on him. I didn’t even knew about him before this. I didn’t deserve him. Jess did. All the directioners did.

Not me.

I raised my hands, tears trickling down my cheeks. “You win, Jess.”

I needed to say my goodbye to Harry. And apologise for wasting his time.

“Who’s it?” His sleepy voice called out in a drawl the moment he opened the door.

His eyes widened when he saw me. “Summer?” he stammered.

I swallowed and nodded. “Yes, it’s me. I needed to tell you something.”

“Come in.” He opened the door wider and we both smiled awkwardly as I entered in.

The door closed.

No running away now.

“I… I’m sorry, Harry. For wasting all your time in the past.” I laughed nervously. “I don’t even know why you allow me to. I clearly don’t deserve your attention and love. There are so many people out there who deserve you more than I do. They spend hours and tons of money on you, yet I didn’t. Jess was right. She does deserve you more than me. All the directioners do.”

He raised his eyebrows gently and laughed. “No. I choose to let you waste my time. Because I thought it was happiness and love. I don’t care if you didn’t fangirl over me in the past, Summer. I love you just for you. Love can’t be forced, Summer. I can’t just love someone just because they spend so much time on me, Summer. Love is when two people love each other, not because one sacrifices a lot. That doesn’t determine how much a person deserves to be with me. I choose to be with you Summer, because I love you.”

A tear plopped onto my cheek. I touched his shoulder warily, as if afraid he might run away. Seeing him smiling at me, I took up my courage to hug him tight.

He didn’t pull away, he hugged me back.

It felt so good to be in his arms again. I felt like I belonged. It wasn’t until now then I realised how I much I missed being with him. We had only fought for a few hours but I already missed him.

He was right. Love wasn’t about how much someone deserved to be with him. If we both love each other, what’s there to stop us? I love him, he loves me. He doesn’t mind the fact that I’m not a fan. He doesn’t mind my weaknesses. And I don’t mind his weaknesses or his perfection.

I don’t mind the fact that he’s a super star, with millions of fans around the world, looking at his every move.

I love him just the way he is.

And most importantly, he loves me, just the way I am.
