"So he actually asked you out on a date? This is crazy Mollie," Josie asked for I swear the fifth time this morning.
"Yes, he actually asked me out on a date. Is it so crazy to think that Mollie Adams is going on a real live date, with a real live boy?" I said a little annoyed as Josie and I combed the racks upon racks of clothing at Craze. I picked Josie up from her house this morning to tell her all about Friday night. Not only did I find Josie at her house, I also found Alex. Alex just happened to be passed out on the living room floor, wrapped up in a bed sheet. So we drove to Craze to find something for me to wear on Wednesday.
"Sorry Mollie, but it's just that you haven't really been active in the dating pool since your parents' divorce. I'm just a little shocked that you'd jump back in with a month left," she said as she looked through a rack of god awful blouses. Sometimes I worry about Josie's fashion choices.
"Anyway, I'd still like to you to answer my question as to why I found Alex passed out in your living room this morning."
"Well after the party we obviously went back to my place and we may have did some things that some people probably wouldn't approve of," she said a tad bit apprehensively.
"Josie, you realize you two have been dating for what a month?"
"You know I lost my v-card a while back, so it doesn't really matter."
"Okay. Okay. I'd also like to bring up the fact that you left me at the party to go have fun with your boyfriend."
"We wouldn't be here shopping for clothes if I hadn't stranded your ass. And you also kind of let yourself get stranded by going downstairs and playing Truth Or Dare, which you passed out from by the way."
"Ugh, don't remind me."
"You are so lucky Matt just happened to be around," Josie said.
Aren't we all.

The four days leading up to my date went by pretty darn slow, if I do say so myself.
On Sunday I went over to Josie's and helped clean before her paretns got home. And can I just remind everyone that teenage boys live like pigs. Alex stayed there a total of two days, and still managed to make a mess that took the both of us three hours to clean.
Monday ended up being pretty damn eventful considering we found out that Alley Ripkin and Weston Harris had gone off and gotten married.
Alley Ripkin is your typical nerd, although she's a notorious party girl. I've known Alley since seveth grade when we bonded over a mutual love for fictional characters and books. Weston Harris is another story though. He's your typical jock, and he could care less whether he graduates. Although I will say that he has a way with a camera; his pictures come out beautifully. Most of the pictures are of Alley.
Anyway, I first heard about it when I walked by a circle of cheerleaders in the parking lot gabbing about it. I decided that they weren't a dependable source, so I went to the happy couple myself.
"I'm hearing things about you two that I'd like to be confirmed or denied," I said as walked up to their shared locker. Weston had Alley up against the locker, making out. "If you could just break up the makeout fest for a few seconds and answer me that'd be spectacular."
"The rumors are absolutely true! We''re hitched!" Alley squealed as she gave Weston a nice peck on the lips.
"Don't hurt me but, are you pregnant?"
"No, silly! We're in love."
"Okay. Well congratulations!" I said as I hugged Alley and Weston. "Was it just a spur of the moment decision or had you two secretly planned a wedding behind the entire town's back?"
"We got married Saturday morning at the courthouse. We really got married because I go off to Marine boot camp a couple days after graduation, so we wanted to get married before I went off to train," Weston said as he took Alley's hand and looked at her like she was an angel.
They were seriously in love.
"That's pretty awesome you guys."
"It is," they said in unison. The five minute warning bell rang and we parted ways and went to our respective classes.
The rest of the time leading up to my date with Matt just seemed to drag on. Nothing exciting happened, except the fact that Lily Jergens got caught hooking up with Jared Moore in the janitor's closet. That was pretty comical. Their walk of shame to the principal's office had an audience of about 200.
So, here I am sitting on my bed, playing out all the scenarios that could happen tonight. This date could be a friendly reminder that I should never ever date again, or it could open a new chapter on dating for me. Either scenario I'd be okay with.
Rather unexpectedly, the doorbell rings. I run down the stairs before anyone can answer it. I'd rather avoid the questions and the,"I want to meet this boy before you go anywhere with him," lecture.
"See you mom. I'll be back by 11," I yell as I slip out the door before she responds. In the process of hurrying out of the door, I run straight into Matt.
"Shit, I'm sorry," I say.
"No worries, no worries. Are you okay? You seemed to be in full on hurry mode as you came out that door," Matt says. He is looking rather spectacular in some jeans that hug everything just right, and a dark red polo. We almost match, which could be embarrassing later on, because I'm in some skinny jeans and a red cardigan.
"You look great," is all I can manage as I stare at him. How and why does he hae this effect on me? I can't even form whole sentences for God's sake.
"I could say the same for you, but I think you look stunning."
That's it, I'm going to melt right here because my cheeks feel like they're about 487 degrees.
"Shall we?" he says as he offers me his hand.
"We shall," I say as I take his hand and walk to his car.
Don't fuck this up, Mollie, I think to myself.
