Chapter 5: The End Of Normal

I woke up in the car. Somehow we were already at the swim club, even though I shut my eyes about two minutes ago. I opened the door, and walked out of the car with my stuff. I turned around and waited for my friend to get out of the car. He jumped and turned to walk in with me. His name was Iker and he was a really good friend. We had a lot of the same interests too. Needless to say we were both just HUGE geeks. Anyways, we walked inside and went up to the stairs. Our swim club was located in the middle of a giant high school so it wasn't unusual for people to get lost, and I guess we made a left instead of a right, and it just got worst from there. As we walked forward it began to get darker and the hallways got more and more confusing. All of a sudden we arrived a tall staircase. It was so tall that it looked threatening. "Maybe it will lead us to the pool" Iker quivered.

"Probably not" I stuttered back, "But I guess it's worth a try." We began to climb the threatening staircase, and with every step we took the floor began to look smaller and smaller and smaller. When we arrived at the top, we were greeted with even more hallways and this time all the lights were out. We couldn't see a thing. As we walked forward we arrived to a big round room. I think it might've been like a hub for all the students. As we walked forward we were greeted with a blaring light.

"Who's there?!" the man holding a flashlight screamed. "Your not allowed back here!" We ran as fast as we could. He began to chase us. We were running so fast that we dropped our swim bags and didn't even look back for them. Soon we arrived at a small staircase. As I was about to run down Iker stopped me.

"I have a quicker way" He whispered. Suddenly Iker jumped on the railing and slid down the railing to the floor below. "Come on!!" he yelled out. I was hesitant at first, but the loud footsteps of the guard running towards me made my mind choose its decision quickly. I jumped on the railing and slid down super fast. when I reached the bottom Iker grabbed me and we ran down the dark quiet hall. All of a sudden we stopped. We arrived at a hallway, but not a normal hallway. The hallway was covered with glass. The walls were glass. The ceiling was glass. The floors were glass. It was just a fully glass hallway. I've never seen anything like it. It was BEAUTIFUL! We began to walk across slowly. We didn't know how steady this hallway was. I began to look down and saw how high we actually were. Now I had a MAJOR fear of heights, and when you are walking on glass about 27 feet off the ground, IT KINDA KICKS IN!!! I began to run as fast as I could to the other end. Iker looked at me like I was crazy! He then looked behind him like the security guard was there. After that he looked down and realized why I was freaking out. He began to walk to me faster, but still trying to be careful not to fall. I was starting to get nervous about the security guard, but we still hadn't any signs  he was near . Iker was nearing me, and I actually thought that we were going to do it. He reached out to grab me, and ..... BOOM!!!

"IKER!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.........
