My hands patted frantically over the grass, feeling for my glasses. My eyes were squinched tightly shut as I searched, and it came to my mind that I could not remember the last time I had had them off. They were the last thing I saw at night and the first I saw in the morning. My parents had impressed upon me the amount of pain I would feel if I ever took them off from a young age, but they were long gone by now, and I could not feel where they had been knocked off to. Slowly, gently, I opened my eyes.
My vision seemed no different for a moment, for which I was confused, then I caught sight of movement out of the corner of my eye.
A creature was coming straight at me, it emenated darkness from the depths of its eyes which were locked on me. I wanted to retch from the hideousness of it and run from pure terror of its form, but I could already tell that it would do me no good to do either.
The dark creature was almost upon me when something passed me by so quickly I could hardly catch anything of its shape, only that it emenated so much light from itself I could hardly look at it.
The dark creature's eyes changed from hate to fear as the light creature blocked its path to me and attacked it.
Two swords came forth, one of smoke and dark steel, one of light, and they arced in a deadly dance as I crawled back as far as possible from the fight.
With an expert thrust, the light creature punctured the dark one's armor, causing it to disappear with a savage howl.
The light creature turned to where I was sitting and walked closer. It bent and picked up something before coming to stand before me, power radiating off of its body and from its eyes. It extended a hand to me and I saw my glasses in its hand. I took them and was about to place them back on when it spoke with a voice that reverberated through my whole body and soul, "You should not look behind the veil, it is not yet time for it to be torn."

Sorry for all the updates, my mind has been very all over the place lately, I'm sure you can understand
