Pain

I was enjoying this conversation with Ezio. I felt like maybe he was breaking down his walls with me. Maybe this man, whom I thought was a monster, wasn't much of one at all. When he told me he was the first of his kind, I was shocked.

"How did yo-?" Suddenly I was on my knees and I knew I wasn't in the vampire realm any longer. Instead I stared at a fourteen year old black haired, green eyed boy. "Get ready boy, training starts in one hour. Be ready for the assassins." The boy looked ready. "Yes Master." The boy said as he bowed.

I seen the boy in the arena, suddenly he had all sorts of people dressed in robes and capes coming at him. "STOP!" I tried to scream but they couldn't hear me. Instead the boy had two sharp knives come out of his wrists. Must have been hidden blades. One by one he killed them all.
When he was finished with the last one his father walked into the arena clapping his hands. "For a servant, you have improved." He laughed. After those words the boy tried coming at him. The King dodged his attempts to kill him. "You little Bastard. I am your King!" The king screamed at him.

The King grabbed the boy and punched him hard in the face. "You will regret this day boy." Without  another word the King had him thrown into the dungeon.

I jumped back into reality. I wasn't sure how long I had been out, but when I looked around, the King of vampires was staring at me with a worried expression. "What happened?" Ezio asked me.

"Another vision, of you." I answered him. "Well, spit it out!" He looked afraid. "I didn't know you were an assassin." He looked at me and his eyes changed to pitch black. "Was? I still am an assassin." He said with seriousness in his voice.

When we finished our walk he allowed me to retreat into my bedroom. I walked in and pressed my face against my pillows, suddenly there was a knock at my door. I jumped up, praying it wasn't the King again.

When I pulled my door back, there was an attractive man standing there. He looked similar to Ezio, but he had golden eyes. "Hello, Isabelle." He looked me up and down. "Um, do I know you sir?" He laughed instantly. "My name is Eric, I am King Ezio's best bud."

I smiled, thinking in my head "Great." "Hello, Eric." He smiled at me. "Wow, you are beautiful, will you walk with me?" He asked. "Uh, I am not sure if that's a very good idea." I blushed looking down. "Nonsense." Eric said looking at me biting my bottom lip. "If Ezio says anything I will handle it." He promised me.

"Okay." I smiled walking forward taking him arm. "So, Isabelle. Where are you from?" I looked down trying to not think of my family. "Seattle." I said trying to watch for the King. "You are safe being Ezio maid." He looked at me trying to reassure me.

"How are you so sure?" I asked him, trying not to cry. "Ezio has been in love before you know?" I looked up at Eric. "No I didn't know." Ezio, in love? Hah. Yeah right. "He fell in love with a human girl. Her name was Christina. She was his world."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "What happened to her?" I asked Eric and he looked at his feet. "I really shouldn't have brought it up, Ezio will kill me if he finds out you heard this from me." He was stopping? No he couldn't just leave me on a cliff and not tell me what happened to her!

"Please, tell me. I promise he won't find out I know or who told me." I said with a pleading look on my face. Finally Eric sighed. "His father killed her." I felt as if my world stopped spinning. "Poor Ezio." Suddenly Eric pulled me into a hug holding my head in his chest. I didn't realize I was crying.

After a few moments I calmed down. Eric pulled back to look at my face. He was wiping hair out of my face when our eyes met. Eric leaned down to kiss me when we suddenly heard someone clear their throat. We both turned to see King Ezio standing there looking at us both.

"Ezio, I was just showing Isabelle here around." Ezio looked at him with cold eyes. "Goodbye Eric." Ezio said harshly. Eric turned and left, while calling him an ass and whistling. I heard the king yell back and call him a disgrace to all vampires. I couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Its getting late human, come." I filled Ezio until we got to our rooms. I turned to go towards my room when Ezio pulled my arm and I was now facing him. His eyes had something that looked like longing in them.

"If you have another vision, come to me, even if I am sleeping." I nodded and retreated to my bedroom. I shut my door and started undressing. When I finished taking a shower, I dried myself off and found fresh pajamas in my drawer. When I got dress I cut my light off and found my way to my bed.

I laid there for hours looking at the ceiling. Wondering how Ezio used to be, before he lost Christina. Was he nice? Was he still a monster? Could he love again? I felt something I never thought I'd ever feel for the king. I felt love. It was impossible. I could not have feelings for someone that murdered my entire family and has done so many horrible things to me. After I laid still, I finally fell asleep.
