"Stop Papa! I won't marry anyone if you keep me locked up in my own home!" I yell furiously. "You'll marry Sting if it's the last thing I do!" He yelled back. "No you won't! I won't be here for the wedding!"
I ran to the window and slammed it open, jumping out as quickly as possible. There was a pool down there, so I knew I'd be safe. I plunge into the pool, it's cool water felt nice on my heated skin.
I swim upwards and pull myself out, taking off all the things slowing me down. I'd kept a secret jacket there filled with money for this day. I didn't think I'd be running away now, I thought I'd stick it out till I was eighteen.
But nah, even though I'm twelve, I know I'll manage without him. Papa's been going on and on about wanting me and Sting-kun to get married, but that's never going to happen. We're just friends, we agreed on that the first time we met.
"You won't be able to get away Lucy!" Papa bellowed from the window. "Oh you know I will!" I yell back at him. I ran as fast as I could, I didn't really know where I was going, I just ran.
When I stopped, I realised I was only in a thin skirt and a jacket. So I went to go buy proper clothes. I found a nice shirt and cargo pants, I also found a pair of awesome combat boots and pink fingerless gloves.
When I changed into the more comfortable stuff, I sat down on a bench in front of a fountain. I watched as people laughed and smiled, as if nothing bad has ever happened to them. "Are you okay?"
I jump when I realised someone was staring at me. "What? Oh, yes, I'm fine." I nod trying to make them go away. "I really don't think you are. Where are your parents?" He asks.
The male in front of me had white hair with black here and there, his eyes were grey and he wore this white and gold soldier's outfit. I thought it was quite cute. "Mamma died when I was four, Papa wanted me to get married to Sting-kun so I ran away."
The man looked at me as if I were crazy. "Getting married? You look twelve!" I shrug. "I am twelve. Papa was going to get me married when I was sixteen. He stopped caring about me so I was really really lonely."
A look of sympathy crossed his face. "How about you come with me? I'm old enough to have my own house." He rolls his eyes. Oh, my look must have told him exactly what I was thinking.
Which was that he looked waaaay too young to live by himself. "Okay!" I say brightly.
