Hanna smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. Tonight was the night of her art exhibit and Paul had called her earlier to let her know that he would be attending. She'd decided to wear her red dress that touched her knees. Her hair was placed into a slick ponytail and she had on minimal makeup. The doorbell rung and she quickly went to answer it before Sal could.
"Hey Paul."
"Hey you look beautiful," he said kissing her cheek.
"Thank you," she said blushing. "Come in."
Paul stepped into the apartment and looked around.
"Nice place."
"Thanks. Your girlfriend doesn't have a problem with you being my plus one does she?"
Paul made a face and Hanna laughed.
"I don't tell Kori about all of my dealings. She'll be fine."
Hanna put her hands up.
"I just don't want to cause conflict," she said.
"And you aren't."
Hanna smiled.
"I'll be right back, I have to grab my jacket."
Paul nodded his head. He sat down on the couch and looked at the pictures that sat on the coffee table.
"No way man. Paul Walker is NOT sitting on my couch."
Paul felt his jaw twitch.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh. Hanna and I share this apartment."
Paul titled his head and gave Sal and confused look. Sal could sense that this situation was about to get awkward, but he cleared his throat and opened the fridge to get a bottle of water.
"Are you two dating?"
"No man."
Paul narrowed his eyes at the frightened boy and shook his head.
"Why are you so nervous?"
"I'm not nervous."
Before Paul could further grill Sal, Hanna emerged from her room and Sal grabbed her arm before she could get back to Paul.
"What is he doing here?"
"I can hear you."
Sal shot Paul a look.
"He's my date to the art show."
"I thought I was your date to the show."
"You said that you didn't like art shows and they were boring, so I asked Paul to join me this evening."
She looked back at Paul and smiled and he shot her a wink.
"Don't be so cheap Hanna."
"I'm not being cheap."
Paul stood up and wrapped his arm protectively around Hanna's waist.
"From my understanding, she asked you, you didn't want to go and now you're mad because I'm going with her?"
"I'm not mad. I just don't want you taking advantage of her, she tends to be a little naïve with men. I should know I've known her longer than you."
