the week later, i leaned against my car waiting for cambria and ryan to get off the jet. i watched as it landed, me just staring. once it was fully on the ground, the door opened and off came cambria in jeans and a t-shirt. she grins walking toward me.
"hello." she smiles, wrapping her arms around me, then kisses me. "wait, is paparazzi around?"
"no." i pull her closer, pulling my sunglasses off my face then kissed her again. she ran her fingers through my hair, me opening up my eyes to see ryan getting off. i pull away, deciding not to kiss her in front of him for obvious reasons.
"did you talk to ryan?"
"nope. he doesn't know i know so act like it never happened. i'll talk to him later so it's not awkward."
ryan walks up to me, then we do our handshake. cambria walks to the other side of the car, then gets in. "how was atlanta?"
"horrible. christian and his girlfriend argued the whole time and caitlin's annoying ass kept questioning me about you." he groans, then opens the car door. laughing, i get in, and started the car back up, mentally making a note to visit atlanta one day.

the atmosphere felt clear and not problematic as i walked into the building. everyone was working, people looking like they were having fun. "i have everyone three days off. those three days i was at the hospital with my dad."
"how mad was your dad about giving them time off?" ryan asks, and justin shakes his head.
"never told him." justin laughs. he nodded his head toward jessica, as he walked with ryan, probably talking to him about the kiss on the jet. jessica smiles as i approach her.
"you two seem happy together." she smirks, me furrowing my eyebrows. "im his secretary. im around him more than you think."
"oh."
"don't worry, you two weren't obvious." she chuckles. "justin just talked about you a lot, and he wouldn't give up on getting you back here to work. i don't know if im supposed to tell you this but he went boss-man on the people at brown so you could get in even if you had a criminal record."
"wow, you do know a lot." i chuckle.
"i also know that ryan kissed you. i have to watch the film as well." she rolls her eyes. "but enough of this, how is karmen taking the divorce?"
"honestly, i don't know. i sort of feel bad but then i don't." i shrug. jessica laughs.
"i never liked karmen. i didn't like justin i just think he's handsome and muscular and she heard me say it before and went psychopath on me." she explained. "im honestly happy she's out of the p-"
justin was walking toward us, jessica smiling. "your face is red what are you talking about?" justin questions.
"periods." jessica smiles sarcastically, picking up her things and walks away. smirking, i look at justin who just rolled his eyes.
"how'd it go?"
"he didn't want to talk about it so i sat there until he did. he told me he started liking you when you two were hanging out when i thought you were in philadelphia." he explains. "he's in there obviously pissed. it's like i said, i can't just stop having feelings for you anymore it'll take a while, so that's what he said."
"total change of topic but what did your dad say about the divorce?"
"nothing!" he exclaims. "absolutely nothing. the day my mom took my to the hospital, he talked to me about a business deal and the three days i was there we barely talked."
i frown, "that probably means he's mad."
justin shrugs. "it is what it is."
