cambria
the trip to paris was cut because justin wanted to get home and see what the hell was happening. just as i imagined it, people were working their asses off. someone had a box of their belongings which meant they've gotten fired. literally, it looked like that episode of spongebob when his brain was on fire.
"oh my god." justin mumbles. just as jeremy emerged from justin's office, his hard look turned soft. he walked over to us. "dad, what are you doing? you just fired jim!"
"he's on a suspension."
justin rolled his eyes, "what do you have to talk to me about?"
"alone." jeremy glances at me. i hold my hands up, staring to walk, but justin grabs my wrist.
"she can stay."
jeremy shrugged. "i have a year to live. there are treatments, but if they don't work im gone in a year. if i don't get you ready to own this company, it's fucked."
"im capable of owning it already. everything was fine then you came and caused havoc." justin snapped, me looking away. "dad, when or if you go, it's my responsibility. you can't tell me how to control the company from ..."
he didn't finish. he just sighs, and walks away. he had started walking toward the elevator, so i was going to follow him but jeremy stopped me. "is he stable enough to handle this?"
"are you stable enough to let him handle this?"

cambria and i sat in the living room watching a movie as she massaged my shoulders. she kisses my neck, then smiles. "you okay?"
"yeah, i just don't want this stress anymore." i sigh. "he's dying and i understand that but he's working everyone too hard and it's hard to work under those conditions."
"tell him then." she says. "come on, you're stressed and you need to relax."
"where am i going?" i ask, getting up and following behind her:
"taking a bath."
"im a man, i don't take baths." i whine, and she just rolls her eyes.
"i'll get in with you." she laughs. "stop being so masculine, a bath is for everyone."
"only if you massage my back again."
"okay, it's a deal."
