I Can't Make You Stay

Erin Pov,

I really don't even know why I agreed to doing this.

I've been waiting in Longhorn Steakhouse for my Evil Mother in law to show up for the past 20 minutes.

Not only have I been waiting on her , I've been waiting to eat.

I think people eating in front of other people who don't have food is kind of disrespectful In a way, but she is really pushing it. Who makes a Pregnant woman wait to eat?

I looked around and still didn't see her, so I picked up my phone to call Chris.

"Hey baby, how is everything going.," he asked
"She still hasn't shown up, and I am starving, I'm about to just come home," I said
"Nah, Elijah and I will come to you, we're hungry too ,"
"Please hurry, I'm dying of Hunger,"
"We're on our way,"
"I love Y'all and be safe,"
"I love you too baby mama,"

I laughed as I hung up the phone

"What's so funny," A voice said from behind me

Breathe Erin, it will be alright.

"Nothing Mama, please sit," I smiled

"Child I'm not your mother, you may call me Mrs. Hawkins," she said as she sat down

Whatever you want mother damn dearest

"How are you Mrs. Hawkins," I asked trying to make conversation

"I'm fine, would be better if I was here with my son instead," she spoke nonchalantly

"He is actually on his way," I said

"Good , I think I will go sit in my car until he gets here," she said getting ready to stand

A part of me was all for her ass going outside, but I came here to make things better between us.

"Well, I was thinking we could talk , you know Mother in law and Daughter in law kind of talk," I smiled

"Listen here Missy, I would say I don't mean to be rude , but that would be a lie. I am not Fond of girls who mess with men who are already taken. My son had his life well put together before you brought your messy ass into his life. You came out of nowhere and just pushed someone out of their spot. He loved Taylor and still does , so I'm going to need you to go find that guy who you were with before, you know the man you let beat you for years , and you still stayed. That's the problem with you young girls , Instead of acting how your Mother taught you to be, you go around thinking your grown and get stuck In a relationship with a man who was once the sweetest person you ever met. She obviously needs to be a better parent. And I have news for you, my Christopher, is not someone who does that type of things to people, so you just leave, you are no longer needed," she said

I was furious by now , this lady knew nothing about my fucking mother and was talking mad shit about things that definitely didn't concern her.

"Ma," I heard Chris speak

"No Chris, I got this," I said

I looked back at her and she literally stood in front of me with the look of accomplishment.

"I listened to you, now it's my turn to speak . I let you bash me from the time you met me , but this , this has to stop right now . You obviously don't know the full story as to what happened between your son and I and I honestly don't think it is any of your concern. His relationship was obviously broken, just as much as mine . I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask for my father and ex to beat me , I never asked to lose my first child, I never asked to destroy a relationship and I damn sure did not ask to have a mother in law, that was so judgmental and controlling. You are so convinced that your way is the only way, and I'm here to tell you that it isn't. And then you have the nerve to bring my mother into this . My mother died in a car accident when I was just 3 years old,I never got to talk to her about boys or anything for that matter . But you just think you have me all figured out. Clearly you don't, I love your Son and our two children, and I would do anything to be the best wife to him and mother to them. I don't even know why I'm explaining my life to you, it's probably coming through one ear and going right through the other," I spat

There were people staring , with their mouths open by now

I grabbed my things and exited the restaurant, not even caring that Chris was calling my name.

I got into my car and put the key into the ignition, driving off shortly after.

As I drove, thoughts of my mother came into view. I never really talked about her because it really hurt to know that I couldn't have a woman figure to look up to . I just did what my friends did, because I knew they were told what to do and what not to do as a lady by their mothers.

No one knew about my mother except  my father of course.

Everyone who asked about my mother, I just shrugged it off, so I didn't have to talk about it.

I didn't really know where I was going , but I did know that I wanted to be alone.

So I just drove and let my car take the lead.

Chris pov,

I couldn't even comprehend what the hell  just happened .

"Ma , what the hell," I said

"Christopher Maurice Brown, you will not use that tone or language with me," she pointed her finger

"How can I not ? You just disrespected my wife in front of me," I asked

"I disrespected her , did you not hear what she said to me ? I was only saying what needed to be said . She ruined you and Taylor's relationship," she spoke

"Taylor ruined our relationship, not Erin. Erin only said what she said because you said some hurtful things to her. Bringing up her past relationship, and judging her. I thought you were against judging considering we basically went through the same thing with Clinton. I love you ma, but if you don't apologize to Erin and accept her , I can't accept you . She is the love of my life ma , you will always have a special place in my heart, you both have my love and loyalty, but I will not hesitate to leave you out of your grandchildren life because you can't accept that. There will never be a Chris and Taylor , it is and forever will be Erin and Chris, so I suggest you make up your mind on where your loyalty lies, and hopefully quickly because your grandson is turning two and your granddaughter is arriving anytime soon," I said before leaving out the restaurant.

I'm starting to think there is just no happiness for Erin.

If it's not me fucking up , it's someone else.
