The New British Boy

Chapter 5

On our way home we decided to stop by a gas station about half way through walking home. We went inside and went down the candy aisle to grab my favorite candy bar. I looked up on the too shelf and noticed a boy with brown hair. He kind of reminded me of louis. After I grabbed my candy I went into line and waited for one of the cashiers to open.

I felt someone tap on my shoulder and I thought it was Adri. But to my suprise it was Louis."Hey," he said. "Oh, hey," I said back nervously. "So, how was your day at school?" "Good, you?" "Oh you know just a normal day, just new teachers and new people " he said. "I love being the new kid because I get alot of atention and I'm not held up to the same expectations and I don't have to do as much work, also I can change my personality and no one will know that I'm really not cool but I can make people think I am" I replied with " thats cool man"

I was trying to ignore the awkward moment so I tried to focus on his eyes and block out his words. It was working. I could see the mystery and dispare lurking in his eyes. Something about his eyes seemed really familiar but I couldn't figure it out.

I hear a loud ding disrupt me from my daze. "Next in line please" said cashier number 2. After he rang up all of my items I looked at louis and waved goodbye.

I put my candy in my backpack and got on my skateboard and headed home with Adri.

When we got home we made pizzas for both of us and we watched a re-run of catfish. Nothing g was said for about an hour, I was still mad at Adri for trying to force me to talk to Louis.

Finally after what felt like an eternity Adri said "Look, Fawn, I'm sorry for what I did at lunch today, I just wanted you to get along with Louis, you know, I was just trying to help out". If I was someone els I would punch her but I'm not. I decided to for giver her. After we made up we hugged.

I thought it would be a good idea for us to bond if we went star gazing. I suggested the idea to her and she agreed. We went and grabbed the ladder and. Climed up on to the roof and layed down on the roof to face the dark sky.

We were just laying there under the stars admiring the endless void of mystery when Adri started talking. "Do you ever wonder if there is anyone out there looking back at us and wondering the same thing?". I immediately thought of my dad. "I know there is" I replied with confidence.

We satayed there for about another hour in silence admiring the beauty of the midnight sky. Adri broke the silence by saying "You know my favorite saying is if two people are really ment to be togather, they will be brought together in the weirdest ways" I said "you know I think it's crazy how I haven't even talked or even seen him that much and how I alredy have feeling for him, but they aren't the Romeo and Julie type of feelings but the kind of feelings that two friends have". "Thoes are the type of feelings that bloom into something big like a tree, you just have to plant the seed" Adri said. I said "you know, these are the type of moments that are important to me and these are the moments that create memories that will never be forgotten". " awe thanks alot, this means a lot to me too".

"I'm kind of sad that our sophomore year is going to end in a week" said Adri. I replied "why, we both hate school". "Well we won't have anything to gossip about" she replied. "Well we can always read magazines and gossip about celebrity's lives" I said sarcastically. Neither of us would be caught dead with one of thoes girly things, considering we hate every thing girly. "Ok it's getting late I better head home and get some sleep" said Adri as she stood up. "Ok see you at school". She wend down the ladder and started to walk towards her house.

I stayed on the roof to look at the beauty of the night time. The sky was so clear, I could see all the stars signing bright like the lights of the skyline of New York. I pulled out my phone and opened my photos. I pulled up a picture of my dad and held it up to the stars. I knew my dad was with me. I imagined that all of the stars in the sky were angles sent by my dad to watch over me.

After an hour of spending time with the stars it was about 1:00 am and I knew that I needed to go to bed. I Climed off the roof and went to my room, turned my alarm on, and fell in a deep sleep.
