*Angel's p.o.v*

An uncomfortable silence shifted into the atmosphere. I sat there, taking a small bite of the bacon on my plate before looking over at Dawn.

"This was good, Dawn, thanks,".

She smiled stiffly, nodding her head then looking over at my Father who never looked up from his plate which he barely touched.

I scooted my chair back to stand to my feet. "I'm gonna go upstairs now,".

As I moved towards the garbage bin to throw away the rest of my food, my father finally spoke.

"Angel we need to speak, in private,".

I looked back at him and he looked up at me, with droopy eyes. Dawn instantly stood from her seat and exited the kitchen leaving me and him alone with the silence.

"Come back, sit," He said.

I slowly turned around, facing him, leaving my back against the sink that was nearby.

"I'm fine right here," I responded.

He looked up at me again, his once saddened face hardening into a grimace.

"Sit down, and I wasn't asking,".

I chuckled lightly. "Dad you do remember that I'm not a little girl anymore. I'm sure you realized that when you thought I was mom last night,".

"GOT DAMMIT JUST SIT DOWN ANGEL!" He yelled sternly before hammering his fist down on the marble kitchen table.

I flinched involuntarily from the shift in his tone of voice.

"Shit," He mumbled to himself, loud enough for me to hear. "I'm sorry Angel. Just please come sit down across from me. Please,".

I hesitantly neared the seat across from him, sitting down.

"Look, about last night," He started. "You don't understand what it's like to wake up every morning and wish you could wake up from this nightmare. To want your wife back. To tell her all the things you never had a chance to,".

Tears rolled down his cheeks slowly as he looked afar off, as if remembering something.

"I remember when we first got married, I wanted to have a whole bunch of kids but your mom she didn't want to ruin her size five figure," He chuckled lightly. "When she told me she was pregnant I was so nervous, I just didn't know what fatherhood was like. I wanted a girl, I really did. You're mom she uh....she wanted a boy. She thought you was a boy throughout the whole pregnancy. We were gonna name you Justin. I remember when she finally gave birth and we finally saw you. I couldn't stop crying, you were so perfect. That day I vowed to be the best Father,".

I sat there silently, watching him closely. I could feel pressure behind my eyes from trying to hold back tears, then unexpectedly I could feel my eyes building up with tears.

"I wanted to give you and your mother the world. I started working another job just to support us. I wasn't at home alot, that made your mom sad but I needed that money," He said. "I needed to make sure you and your mother were financially stable, even if it killed me; and it almost did. For a whole two years I was in and out of the hospital, suffering with heart issues due to stress and your mother was right there with me. The day I was being promoted at my job your mother was supposed to come. She never showed up,".

He stopped speaking momentarily to lick away a few tears streaking down his lips, then he sniffed.

"I remember I was so mad. I kept calling, and calling. And she never picked up. I stayed out late that night, at the bar drinking. And when I came home that night.....,".

More tears rolled down his wrinkled cheeks, causing me to run towards him and throw my arms around his shoulders. I sobbed lightly.

"When I came home that night, she was in bed. I assumed she was sleeping until I tried to wake her up and she never did. By the time I called an ambulance it was too late. She was gone. She had died in her sleep. You were only a few months old at the time and you was screaming your head off in the next room. I'll spend the rest of my life blaming myself. Every time I look at you, I see her. But sweetie I apologize for last night,".

"Dad, I'm sorry,".

I leaned up, staring at him as I let tears fall down my face. I used my thumb to wipe away the tears from his face.

"She would've wanted you to be happy. Dawn makes you happy, I see that now,".

He chuckled lightly. "I Love Dawn, but I'll always Love your mother too, she'll always have a special place in my heart,".

"I Love You Dad,".

He leaned up a bit to place a kiss on my forehead.

"I Love You too,".
