*Angel's p.o.v*
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed as I covered my mouth before I laughed.
Somehow Michaels hand made it's way to my thigh while I laughed and I glanced down at it.
"Ugh, sometimes living in a big house by myself gets lonely at times," He sighed as his hand slowly caressed my thigh.
I cleared my throat softly before I looked over at him, he was staring out the window.
I giggled. "I bet if I lived with you, you wouldn't be so lonely,".
He snapped his neck in my direction and grinned. "That would be perfect. If you lived with me,".
I giggled again, this time nervously. "Michael you're a very handsome and sweet guy but I barely know you. And our age gap is too big for me. I basically hate my dad because he's married to a women my age,".
He looked down, his grin faded. "Oh,".
His hand slowly left my thigh, his attention returned to the window.
I sighed before relaxing back in my seat.
After hours passed, the plane had finally reached my destination. As it landed I decided to speak to Michael one last time.
"Michael," I said softly.
He looked up, his brown eyes peering at me.
"Yes?".
I didn't know what to say so I extended my arm. "It was nice meeting you,".
He looked down at my hand and chuckled.
"Come on Angel, I think we know each other enough for a hug,".
I laughed as I pulled my arm back and leaned over to give him a hug.
The plane landed and everyone became rowdy again as they stood from their seats and collected their belongings. I unbuckled my seatbelt and stood, reaching up for my small bag. I threw it across my back and smiled lightly at Michael before I squeezed through the crowd of people. After I got off the plane and walked through the crowded station I was finally free from chaos. The warm breeze hit me in the face and I automatically frowned. The familiar aroma of my hometown made me cringe. I didn't wanna be here. I pulled out my phone and dialed my father's number, he picked up on the third ring.
"Sweetheart,".
"Dad I'm here," I mumbled.
"Alright sweetheart, be there in 10,".
Then he hung up. I looked around, a few other people were standing and they looked as if they were waiting for someone too. I waited, and in exactly 10 minutes I spotted a beautiful red range rover pulling up to the sidewalk.
The car stopped and my father hopped out of the driver's side and rushed towards me, hugging so tight I swore I heard my insides crack.
"My beautiful Angel!". He picked me up and swung me around until I laughed and hit his chest. Eventually he put me down and placed his hands on his hips, glaring at me.
"You're definitely not a little girl anymore,".
I looked behind my dad, the passenger door swung open and a long tanned leg darted out. Then I saw her. She had on a yellow short sundress and black wedges. Dark shades covered her eyes, I'm sure they were designer. A huge white sun hat sat on top of her long black curly hair. I watched her every move as she walked to my father and intertwined her arm in his.
"Angel, we've missed you," She said, flashing her sparkling white teeth. I'm sure my father paid to get her teeth that perfect.
I flashed a fake smile her way then looked at my Dad. He still looked the same.
The silence between us made things awkward and my Dad finally realized that.
"Well, let me get your bags sweetheart,".
He bent down and immediately stood to his feet as he shuttered in pain.
He rubbed his back. "Can't be bending over like that,".
She rubbed his back and pouted. "Baby you don't need to be hurting your back, go in the car. I can get Angel's bags,".
"It's fine," I spoke quickly. "I got it,".
"Sweetheart you and Dawn just go wait in the car while I get your bags,".
"It's really fine Dad I got I',".
My Dad stared at me intensely. "Go,".
I sighed lowly as I walked towards the car and opened the back door, getting inside. Dawn did the same.
"You could've sat in the front seat if you want," She said.
"It's okay," I uttered.
"You know I don't want to replace your mom, to be honest I don't really like the phrase 'Step Mother'. It's a little offensive to me. So I kinda just want to be your friend you know. I don't want these two weeks to be awkward you know. I love your Father and I know you do so I just want these two weeks to be stress free,".
"Listen I don't want to pretend that I like you because I don't. I'm here for my Dad. I refuse to act like your friend. Where I live we call that being fake. So I'd prefer if we keep this talking thing to a minimum," I retorted.
Before she could respond my Dad had opened the Driver's side and hopped in, restarting the engine.
"Are my two favorite girls getting along?".
"Of course," I answered.
"Good," He responded. "Now how bout we go get something to eat,".
"Sounds great,".
