I had decided to give in and let Kieran take me. I didn't completely trust him, since we had just met an hour ago and he seemed to have some jealousy issues. But I was curious to where he was taking me, and he wouldn't tell me anything. Plus I was completely exhausted from trying to escape from his grasp. Feeling myself falling asleep on him, I closed my eyes and held onto his tshirt. He was holding onto my waist and I felt safe in his arms, even though my brain was screaming at me that I had to get away from him. I ignored it nevertheless and let my dreams take over.
I was woken by the familiar sound of my phone ringing. Kieran was still carrying me and he tried to grab it out of my jacket pocket, but I got to it before him. He gave me playful daggers so I done them back.
"Hello?" I managed to calmly say.
"Lydia, thank god! Where are you? Are you safe? Who are you with?" It was Macy.
"Woah didn't realise you were my mum Macy. Firstly I have no idea where I am, I don't know if I'm safe, and I'm with Kieran."
There was a pause before she managed to say anything else.
"Lyd, i don't know about this. I think I should come and look for you, I mean you barely know this guy."
I felt like screaming 'yes' into the phone. I was so scared. I had just been taken away by a random guy and I had no idea why. Was it because I had talked to him at the bar? But at the same time I didn't want Macy or Adele to get hurt. Kieran could quite obviously defend himself, and he seemed to be pretty protective of me for some reason. So I just decided to go with my gut instinct.
"Macy, seriously I'm fine. Now go home, you sound out of your mind drunk."
"Fine, call me if anything happens."
She hung up and I put my phone back in my pocket.
"So you're called Lydia then?"
Dammit, he must have heard Macy. There was no point in denying it.
"Yeah."
I could tell by the way he tensed up that he was grinning in victory. God I hated guys like that.
We went in silence for a while longer until we reached the outside of an apartment. He put me down on the ground and opened the door. I don't know what came over me, but thinking about going into a quiet apartment with some stranger didn't really take my fancy. I grabbed my chance as he was opening the door and started to sprint as fast as I could in the direction we had just come from. I didn't know where we were, but if I just got back to the club then I could find my way home from there. I looked behind me and saw Kieran running after me.
"Lydia. Get right back here now!" He screamed.
I was starting to get out of breath. Why did I have to be so unfit? I turned the corner and spotted an alleyway that I could hide in. I slid down the wall and sat down in the dark street. My breath made a slight mist, showing how cold it was getting. I looked back to the main road and saw Kieran walking slowly around the alleyway entrance. I held my breath and watched him walk back the way he came from. I sat there for a few more minutes just to be sure he had gone and then got up to try and find my way back home. Just as I got onto the main road, a hand firmly wrapped around my bare arm. I squealed at the tight grip and my arm begged the person to let go. I turned round only to see Kieran.
"Let go!" I screamed.
I prayed that someone would drive past and see me so I could get some help. But it was completely quiet, the only sign of life was a few rats scattered around in the gutter.
"Don't you ever do that again." He said
"Or what?" I managed to choke out between the tears.
"Don't give me that attitude, you're mine. You belong to me."
"I don't belong to anyone, especially you." I spat out.
What happened next surprised me.
He grabbed my neck and pushed me up against the wall. I had to gasp for air as he lifted me up off the ground. I thought I was actually going to die as I could feel my lungs collapsing, until I heard a gentle voice. I couldn't see him because my eyes were blurry, I could barely even hear their voices.
"Kieran. Stop it." He firmly said
"I cant. She doesn't love me. If she doesn't love me then she can't love anyone else."
"Kieran. You've just met. Do you really expect her to fall in love with you so easily?"
"It happened with Kit didn't it? As soon as him and Charlotte met they knew that they loved each other."
"Yes. But Kieran you have to remember that she is a human. It's different for them."
My head started spinning of all the different possibilities of what they meant. They weren't human?
I heard a deep sigh come from Kieran and he eventually let go of my neck, leaving me to fall to the ground. I lay there for a moment, letting the air start to circulate round my body once more. I heard someone walk away and then I felt myself being picked up by someone. I expected to be thrown over their shoulder but instead they carried me bridal style. Their tshirt was soft against my head and they had a comforting homely smell. I fell asleep straight away in the safety of their arms.
