KIERAN'S POV
I was kissing Lydia. And the best part was that she was kissing me back. I could feel my wolf try to take over as we deepened the kiss, but I knew humans didn't like moving too fast, and I certainly didn't want to lose her now. I whined as she pulled back, which made her laugh. We were both breathless and just sat looking at each other for a moment. The only reason we broke gazes was because the phone started to ring. I sighed and ran over to it before it went to voicemail.
"Hello?" I said uncertainly
"Kieran, hello darling! I have a bit of good news for you!"
Great. It was my mother.
"Hi mum, what is it?"
"I've been talking to alpha Riley from the storm breeze pack, and he has suggested you and your beta meet up with him to come to some sort of peace agreement."
I should explain. My pack and Riley's pack have been enemies since the beginning of time. Nobody has ever tried to make peace, and my mum seems pretty enthusiastic to do so.
"Fine. What's happening?"
I started to zone out as my mum blabbed on about when we were meeting and how good an opportunity this was.
I looked over at Lydia. She was beautiful. She was twiddling her thumbs and looking around the room inquisitively. She caught my eye and smiled, her dimples making her look even cuter. Suddenly I realized that I was still on the phone.
"Kieran, are you listening to me?"
"No, sorry mum"
I could almost see her scoffing and rolling her eyes, what a woman she was. I knew she felt alone and unwanted since dad died, but she had to realize that me, Dean, Sean and even Kit (our bestfriend) had our own lives now.
"Our packs have agreed, the only way to guarantee our peace treaty is to form some kind of relationship. So we have decided. You and Riley's sister Anya will get married."
I gasped. She can't be serious. Just as I find my mate. But now I have to choose. My soul mate, or my packs safety?
