Aqua's POV
"Hi everyone welcome to your university! We are so excited for the new arrivals! Up on the wall behind me is the list of students and the dorms you're in. Don't forget to drop by the library for your schedule and your books," the woman on the stage said, a little too enthusiastically for my taste.
She stepped off the stage and everyone swarmed the list. I just waited until most of the crowd had left, my Ray-Bans shielding anyone from seeing where I'm looking. People have a tendency to stare; my piercing green eyes usually catch attention. Mostly from people I don't care about. Finally the crowd was down to about 10 people, and I made my way up to the list. Hathaway, Hathaway, I searched the list. There I was, Aquamarine Hathaway Room 382. Looked like I was on a mixed floor. I sighed and grabbed my suitcase, heading towards my dorm. I stepped into the lift and hit the button for level 3.
"Hold the lift!" Two voices shouted at me. I held the doors open, and two boys walked in, books in their arms.
"Oh good, same level," One of them said. I didn't remove my sunglasses, and take the time to see exactly what these boys look like.
Similar build, same height, dark brown hair, blue-green eyes. The only difference that I could see between them is their hair. Even their style seems similar. The doors opened.
"Ladies first," one said, and I'm already heading out. "No, I meant Jack..." I turned around.
"Har, har, very funny," I said.
"Whoa, didn't mean to be offensive," the same twin said. He shifted his books to one arm. "Finn Harries." He stuck his hand out. I obliged and shook it. "This is my brother, Jack." I shook his hand too.
"What's your name?" Jack asked.
"Hathaway. Aquamarine Hathaway," I said. "Nice to meet you." I walked down the hallway, looking for my room.
"Are you going to take those sunglasses off?" One called.
"No," I called back. I found my room and opened the door. Blank walls greeted me, a small kitchen, and a couch and TV. I closed the door behind me, and wandered farther into the room. I spied a door, and opened it. A twin sized bed, wardrobe, and desk, painted white, and a door leading to the bathroom. I dragged my suitcase in, leaving it by the wardrobe, and walked back out. I spotted a key on the table by the door, pocketed it, and opened the door. One of the twins was outside, his hand raised to knock on my door.
"How did you know what room was mine?" I asked.
"Just a hunch." He flashed a cheeky grin. I rolled my eyes.
"Can I get past? I need my books," I said. Because I'm secretly a nerd. But I didn't say that and just leaned against the doorframe.
"Well it looks like you're comfortable there, so I think I'll just stand here for a while." I scoffed.
"Remind me which one you are," I said.
"Finn."
"Right. So Finn, would you mind terribly moving so I can leave?" I asked, giving him my signature pleading face: puppy dog eyes mixed with a slightly pouted lip. He caves like i knew he would.
"Jack!" He pounded on the door next-door. Oooo yay, right next-door! My inner self squealed, truly delighted. The door opened.
"What, Finny?"
"I'm going with my new friend Aquamarine to get her books," Finn said.
"I never said..." I got cut off.
"I'm coming!" Jack yelled.
"No! You're certainly not coming!" I exploded. Both boys blinked at me. "I never said anything to the effect of inviting you along to get my books, and I'm certainly not going to." I walked down the hallway to the lift. A door closed, and I exhaled a breath I was holding.
