Stiles' POV
"You did what?!" Lydia basically screamed at me. "You tell me how I should never be alone with him, and then you go and be a hypocrite and meet him at the coffee shop?!"
"Lydia, I was trying to protect you! Why can't you see that?! I'm always trying to protect you!-"
"I don't need protecting, Stiles!"
"Really? So you didn't need protecting whenever I had to run to the drugstore before you got your throat slit? You didn't need protecting, so that's why you got shot? You didn't need protecting when the nogistune captured you?!" I shouted and she stood in silence. I sighed "I'm sorry, Lyds, I didn't mean it all like that-"
"It's fine" she snapped quietly, obviously presenting it wasn't fine.
"He told me he could get Allison back" I whispered and her eyes darted to mine.
"What?" she asked in denial.
"Apparently he's a vampire" I started off and she gave me a shocked look, "and he said he knew a way he could get Allison back" I said and she sat in silence.
"Did he say how?"
"No"
"How did he even know about her?" she asked confused.
"Lydia he's obsessed with you" I said a little too blunt, causing an uneasy look to come about her face. It was silent. For minutes. In that moment, I could only think of one thing to say, and I didn't hold back.
"I'm still in love with you, Lydia" I said, catching her attention. "I've never stopped. I've never met anyone like you. You're the most amazing thing that's happened to me, and this past year that I haven't been with you has been hell. I tried so hard to stop loving you, I really did. I tried to avoid you, I dated Malia, I tried to always put the fact in my brain that you don't love me anymore, but it was no use. Loving you is like breathing, I can't stop. I sit in my room every night, overwhelmed by how much I love you. Maybe I was too late to be your first love, but I'm preparing myself to be your last. Because ever since I met you, in the third freaking grade, no other girl has been worth thinking about. I'm so in love with you, Lyds, and I don't see myself ever stopping. And if I have to wait, I will, because I honestly don't want anyone else." I said, finishing off with a shaky deep breath. She gave me a merciful look before she stood up and walked over to me,
and kissed me.
Her soft plump lips reminded me of our very first kiss. She kissed as if it was her first time kissing me. It was blissful oblivion, better than fireworks, she was the only real thing in the world. The way her delicate hands stroked my jaw, the way my hands laid on her waist and pulled her body closer to mine, it was like everything that happened this past year never happened. It's like we never broke up. It's like all the pain we've experienced never happened. It wasn't awkward, we weren't uneasy, it was like we've been trying to find our way back to each other and finally did.
"I'm in love with you, and I'm not gonna waste my time by ignoring or denying it, but say this simple, true pleasure. Because I was, and I remain, totally, completely, utterly, and wholly in love with you. And I think I was scared to admit it because you mean more to me than any other person. You're everything I want, everything I think about, and everything I need." Lydia said in the most heartfelt tone I've ever heard, leaving me standing there, smiling like I was the happiest man in the world, which I'm convinced that I am.
"I can't believe I wasted all these months not being with you. I can't believe I didn't tell you how in love I was with you sooner." I said and she beamed me a smile with her eyes twinkling.
"Never again will either of us make that mistake again."
"Hopefully there won't be a reason for the mistake to be made." I said and she grinned at me before leaning in again and placing her lips on mine.
****
Our perfect day was soon interrupted hours later when there was a knock on Lydia's front door.
She groaned, "I'll be right back" she said before giving me a quick peck on the lips and I smiled as I watched her hop out of her bed and lightly trot down the stairs.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I muffledly heard and I jumped off the bed and ran downstairs, immediately knowing who it was. Damon.
"What did I tell you?" I yelled at him as I approached him when I reached the end of the stairs. Lydia quickly put her body in front of mine and put her hands on my chest, pushing me back,
"Don't give him the satisfaction he wants" she whispered and I glared at him before returning my attention back to Lydia. She slowly slid her hand down my arm before intertwining our fingers. Damon looked down and smirked,
"Aw you guys are a couple again? How adorable." he said, causing us to both roll our eyes.
"Why are you even here?" Lydia asked. "And what's this whole ordeal with you saying you could get Alli back?"
"Well that's actually why I'm here cupcake" he said, making me want to throw up by the fact he gave her a nickname, "I will help you get your long lost best friend back-"
"How?" she interrupted and he got an annoyed look on his face,
"If you would let me finish talking, you'd find out!" he snapped at her and she rolled her eyes, "Anyways. I have this stone, and it can bring people back from the dead." he said nonchalantly.
"How does it work?" Lydia asked once again.
"Pretty girl, you gotta stop interrupting me. I like you, so please don't make me snap your neck" he said and I slowly put my body in front of hers, "So I have this stone, and I need to place it on her body, and then I'll have my witch do the spell which will cause her to come back to life" he said fakely happy.
"So you're telling me we have to go to the graveyard and get her body out?" I asked in a somewhat disgusted tone.
"Well how else do you expect me to get her body?" he asked, trying to make me feel dumb and I rolled my eyes for about the 100th time. I felt Lydia release our hands,
"No. No, there's no way I'm getting her body out" she said worriedly and I grabbed her face, causing her to calm down a little,
"Hey, baby girl listen to me" I said softly and she did, "you do not have to feel pressured by him. You don't even have to believe him because who knows if he's even telling the truth-"
"I am" he butted in. "Look you don't have to do anything. I'll go to the graveyard, I'll get her body, and I'll have my witch do the spell, you don't have to witness any of it, all I need if your consent" he said and Lydia sat in silence.
"So are you in or out?" he asked.
Lydia sat there for a few seconds, thinking, before answering,
"I'm in."
