The fire hissed and crackled in the shallow pit, sending up sparks into the air to dwindle away into nothingness. Sitting on a rock, her dragon behind her, her hood covering her face, a dragon rider  watched the flickering flames.

She turned over a rock with her foot and the beast behind her snorted, moving it's great head to lie by her feet. She stroked its velvety, fluttering blue ears and massive emerald ruff absentmindedly, her thoughts elsewhere.

On the other side of the campfire, something stirred in the brush. The dragon rider stood, reaching for a dagger on her belt, her dragon opening one yellow eye in preparation...

Another woman emerged from the trees, carrying a largish bow with her. Neither of them drew or aimed their weapons, instead staring into each other's eyes across the still-blazing flames.

"Tyra." The dragon rider spoke first.

"Veraldai." responded the blonde.

"It's been a long time, hasn't it?"

"Oh, nigh-on fifteen years now, I'd say."

The dragon behind Veraldai stirred and shot its head up, looming above the pair of women. Its eyes stared angrily at Tyra, prepared to fight the human for its rider at any given moment.

"Hush, Greenflare,"soothed the rider, placing a hand on the blue dragon's snout. It snorted but lay back down on the dirt, Veraldai smoothly sitting once more with it.

"That's quite a dragon you've got there," commented Tyra, sitting cross-legged on the dirt. "Mimic Spitter, if I I'm not mistaken?"

Veraldai nodded.

"It's been a very, very long time, Tyra. I've changed, and so have you."

"How would you know?" snarled Tyra, glaring at Veraldai from across the fire. "You're not even my full sister. You only met me and Daniel once, out of pure chance, and you were a lot different then."

"I... that wasn't me." murmured Veraldai, looking to the side.

"Oh really? Then who was it, Odin in disguise?" mocked Tyra. "Please do illuminate me on the situation."

The dragon rider bit her lip. "It's... complicated..."

"Oh, you think I'm not smart enough to understand?" yelled Tyra, standing up with the snapping of sticks. "I don't even know why I agreed to meet you. Goodbye, sister. I hope we never meet again."

And she walked away, and once more, it was just the dragon rider, the dragon and a pit full of fire.

This was a crossover oneshot with the Comet Nights trilogy and xoxAnnee's HTTYD fanfiction series, the Emma series. Tyra is her character, not mine. I just wanted to look at bit deeper into the sort of relationship Vera would have with her half-siblings, so this was created! I hope you like it, Annee!
