I have had many readers ask me why I am writing on such controversial topics. There are many reasons behind this:

1. I don't want to write fluff. I want to write about reality. Reality is harsh but it is the truth. Many of the scenes in Finding You are based on the reality that I have seen, experienced and heard. We need to be aware of what is happening around us. Allah forbids, if anyone of us goes through this. But we should know and be prepared if anything happens as such and how should we tackle.

2. All my books cater to problems in marriages, why? Because in the last nine years of my marriage I have learned and experienced a lot. I have seen people around me suffer for various reasons. And these reasons are found in my book. As I have grown older, the problems I had not noticed are much clearer today and that is what I want to write on.

3. Life is a struggle. It's not a fairy tale. Many people struggle for years and even die as such. Others do find their happy endings but still have to work hard to maintain this happiness in their life. My books are on the later where happiness will be seen eventually but after great struggle.

4. My plots are based on the social issues that mostly we tend to ignore or worse are too ashamed to talk about. I want to break this stereotypical thinking. When there is a problem it needs to be addressed in order to find the solution. If we hush up about it, the problem will always remain and may get worse.

5. Many may think my books are not 'Islamic' enough as there is some level of explicit scenes and strong language. Strong language has been added that is how many Muslims are, especially men. Many of us do not fear Allah and my books depict what Muslims are in reality. Many chose to struggle and try follow the Straight Path like Fadil but others are never able to like Fahd. The inclusion of some 'intimate' scenes are to prove a point. Much worse happens in this world but I have still toned down my book scenes considering the number of teenage readers here.

6. Many of my characters are not perfect. Islam is perfect but Muslims are not. How many of us follow strictly. How many of us sin all the time? That is what I am portraying.

7. My books are NOT only about sexual issues as one reader pointed out at me. I stress on the sexual issue in my introduction author note because of the sensitivity of the topic. So the reader has an idea what to expect out of the book. My books look beyond that, Finding You focused upon alcoholism and then its effects, greed for money, unrequited love, the strength of Imaan, the restrictions a woman has in this society, death and much more.

Hope I made myself clear here!
