We are coming to Ramadan 2016 inshaa Allah in many parts of the world in one day and other parts in two days inshaa Allah. But the question is are you ready?
I remember as a child my mother used to say treat Ramadan as a guest. I never understood it then. But today I do when I value time. It is a month that will pass by in a flash if we don't take advantage of it. But why should we take advantage of this month?
It is the month where blessing increase multiple times. We are all sinful beings. When we look deep down in ourselves we know our faults. No one is telling us to announce our sins but rather the door of repentance are open until our death. More so over, there are times in a person's life where we can erase these sins by our good deeds. And indeed Ramadan is one of those moments in life.
Now as Ramadan is near a good way to stay focus and have deen (religious) goals for this month. There are many goals we can set up. For example:
1. If you don't pray regularly make it a habit to pray five times in this month and inshaa Allah you will follow after the month.
2. If you haven't touched the Quran for many months then make a goal to take out some time to read the Quran daily and make it habit for the post Ramadan days.
3. And many of us who are non-Arabs I am ashamed to say have no clue what Allah's words are saying. Then make a goal to read a passage of the Quran with translation every day.
But most of all lets have the biggest goal:
LET'S NOT WASTE TIME IN THIS BLESSED MONTH.
Time is the most valuable asset for a Muslim. Time will never come back. This month will not be here again. Next year Ramadan will be different with different goals. So let us work together to achieve our goals.
So my dear brothers and sisters in Islam let's make goals as we have the countdown to Ramadan.
May Allah accept our ibabah (worship) of this blessed month. Ameen
