A very strange and interesting experience was felt by my husband and I yesterday on Eid day and then I couldn't resist to share this on my Facebook. I thought I would share here on Wattpad as well, there is hope ... even when we are called a terrorist, hated upon .. there is a ray of light that an average person on the street has respect for our religion and us as Muslims. This is the post I had posted:

When I first came to Ireland, Islam was foreign for the native Irish people. I still remember my first Eid in Dublin, I was dressed up with heavy make-up and countless accessories. When I was on the way for the Eid prayer, an Irish woman walking on the street had stopped me to ask whether it was my wedding day. I had to explain her about Eid festivities for a Muslim.
Today, nearly a decade later, things have changed dramatically. There has been an influx of Muslims in Ireland but the realization hit me hard yesterday when my husband's car was blocking our house lane while my five-year-old daughter was trying to sit in the car as she carried her lahenga (fancy full skirt). Once she was seated and buckled up, my husband drove further away and apologized to the female driver in the awaiting car for making her wait long. She smiled and said, "No bother and Happy Eid."
My husband and I were speechless. It brought a big smile on my face that amidst all the hatred and misconceptions of Muslims there were people who respected and understood our religion.

Eid Mubarak Everyone!!!
