So here I am, at 2 AM in front of Elle's house. I couldn't take it anymore, I needed her back. I've called her many times, she's not picking up, which is unusual, she always picks up her phone, no matter where she is, or what time it is. I guess that means she's still mad at me.

Suddenly my phone went black. No battery. I cursed myself and hit my head against the door a couple of times. I tried turning it on again. It just blinked once, with a text what told me to load my batteries. I jumped when someone suddenly opened the door.

"Joanne, it's good to see you, but what are you doing so late?" It was Elle's mom. I guess they were back home. She wore a robe and obviously just woke up.

"I came to see Elle, is she there?" I asked.

"No, sorry, as much as I know, Jackie and Elle are both out," she answered. I let my head down.

"Okay, thanks, could you tell Elle to call me?"

She nodded as a response and I turned to walk back home. And of course it had to start raining. I quickened my pace and pulled the calash of my hoodie over my head. I got back pretty quickly.

In front of the door I started to look for my keys in my pockets. None. No keys. Though I was already pretty sure I'd forgotten them inside but I still got my hopes up I'd still find them somewhere, but no. I started knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell. Then I listened quietly if there was any kind of movement inside. No. I started knocking again, my knocks went louder and turned into slamming. I was shouting everybody's name but still no answer! I was really mad by that time. What was wrong with them? Damn deaf people.

The rain was still pouring on me and I was starting to get soaked. Then I burst out crying like a baby. Because that was just enough. Why do these things happened to me? Warm tears were mixed with the cool raindrops on my cheeks. I don't care if I was being childish, but I didn't want my life to be this way, I wanted my old life back. Or my life at Will's place. I was fully away from my life there.

I stood there for a long time, cursing my life and wiping my tears away, which was pointless, because the rain already washed them away and my sleeves were wet, like every other part of my clothes, or hair.

I sobered up and thought that I can't stand here forever. I had to get out of the rain. I didn't know anyone around my neighborhood, Elle's place was the closest. So yes, I started walking back there. I didn't bother to walk quickly, because I was already soaked and I was starting to get tired.

So there I was again, knocking on their door. Someone again opened it, her mom again. She was going to say something but her face changed when she saw me.

"What happened, darling?" she asked, concerned.

"I forgot my home keys inside. I can't get in and my phone is dead, and-" I sniffled, explaining, the tears were filling up my eyes again "and I really want Elle back!"

"Oh you poor thing, come in quickly," she held the door for me and I entered. I have met Elle's mom only couple of times, but she's always seemed so bubbly and caring, you could tell she actually cares about Elle and Jackie.

"Go throw some Elle's clothes on, I'll make you some cocoa meanwhile," she told me. I just nodded and headed to her room.

I opened the door and switched on the lights, I found there Elle's always tidy room. I tip toed to her closet and picked up a shirt and pants, which were actually mine. I even found my underwear. How many of my things does she own? I headed to her huge bathroom and pulled of the wet clothes and dried myself with a towel. Then I pulled on dry clothes and looked at myself from a mirror. My eyes were red and puffy, my hair was a mess. That made me feel even more miserable. At these time Elle would laugh and hug me. She would make me an awesome make-up and we would go out and have fun. I sucked up the tears and washed my face with cold water and went to the kitchen, where I could hear Elle's mom.
