Ai sat up slowly, she was alone in the room. She was cold and wished for Delun's warmth. She wanted to wake up in his arms again, she felt safer there and warmer. She slowly got up and dressed. She wore nothing flashy nor did she put her hair up. Instead of searching for her husband, she searched for Chao. She never did get her neices name.

There were more men in the palace then she had ever seen, large men. Warrior's, Delun's warrior's. It made her nervous, as she walked men talked happily over Delun killing a spy. She didn't want to hear, she didn't want to know. She walked down a hall whem she saw all the men blockung her veiw she turned and ran into another. A ugly man with a large nose and squinted eyes.

"A little rabbit lost." He asked motioning to his buddies. "Are you lost?"

"No I am not lost." Her heart beated wildly in her chest. "Excuse me."

"We can show you a good time," another ugly man went to touch her.

"There you are, sweetheart." A arm went around her shoulders. She was saved. When she looked at her savour, she never saw anyone so flamboyant. He had earrings and wore bright colors. "Excuse us gentleman." They parted without question. "Forgive them, Empress, they are not that smart." He chuckled when they were out of earshots.

"Thank you." She said softly. He let her go and she was anle to get a good look at him. He was ypung around Delun's age and just as beautiful. He looked like a girl and he wore nothing but vibrant colors.

"How rude I am." He wasn't smiling as he got to his knees. "I am General Li Ming. One of the Emperor's must trusted friend."

"How did you know who I was, General." Ai asked him then regretted it. It wasn't ladylike to ask such things upon meeting someone. Then again she didn't act like a lady in the morning,

"Lucky guess. The Emperor speaks highly of you in our letters." He didn't smile. It made her nevrous that a man so pretty didn't smile.

"General, do you know where he is?" He stared blankly at her.

"Of course." He said, spinning on his heels. "He's busy. Leave him alone." General Ming's voice was full of bitterness. And had a hint of hate although she did nothing wrong, so it would be impossible since they just met. Unless Delun spoke badly about her in his letters.

She watched General Ming walk away, she hid a yawn behind her hand and she turned towards Delun's room. She decided to lay there and wait till he was done being busy.

She was confused about General Ming, she decided she would ask Delun about him.
