After minutes of walking, Clare could bare no more of the suspicion bubbling inside of her, was Eddy worth trusting? She stopped following Eddy, and turned back. It was better to be safe than sorry.

She took a glance back and noticed that he was still walking, not knowing she had turned around. She took the chance and hurriedly ran back to the hut.

" Where are you going, I haven't even get to know your name," Eddy cried, waving his arms.

Clare gulped and looked back, feeling frightful. "Where did you fine me, exactly. And where are you bringing me. Just please, answer my question, I feel anxious about a stranger bringing me somewhere I don't know." Clare squeaked.

"You don't trust me do you," he said. "You don't believe magicians, after the tradgedy in Hemshire. But there are good magicians out there, do you know that?" he added, with a frown on his face.

Dumbfounded, Clare took a deep breath, "After what I have been trough yesterday, I don't trust anyone, anymore, especially magicians. And you still have not answered my question, where are you taking me?" Clare asked, rather nervously.

"Follow me, and I am certain that you will not regret doing so. Hurry up and increase your pace already, There's not much time left," he called while jogging towards a signboard in front of him.

Clare did not hesitate, instead she sighed and did as he said, racing up towards the sign board, jagged and imprinted in dark ink. Welcome to Cardinal's Peak, it read. It did sounded like an amazing place, maybe Eddy was worth trusting after all, as she though of it, she began to feel abashed again, like usual. Then something interrupted her - Peak. Was she on top of a mountain? It didn't feel like it.

"Well are you coming or not? What's your name by the way," he hollered.

"Clarrisa, but please just call me Clare," she called back. She was too distracted of her thoughts, she came into a halt, completely forgetting about Eddy. "Are we at a mountain?"

"Yes, we are. Hurry, time is ticking." he shouted, resuming his running.

Clare did the same and soon, a cobblestone path approached in front of her, with tall lamps hanging over the branches of trees, sending streaks of luminescent around the path, its majestic light glowing under the trees.

Soon, Clare could see a small part of the burning sun, laying on the horizon, with layers of mountains below it. It was now clear to her where Eddy had brought her. He had brought her here to indulge in the beauty of mother-nature. The presence of the sun made it an unbelievable sight. Streaks of yellow, peach, pink, purple and orange decorated the sky. The clouds hanging in the atmosphere, birds chirping noisily in their nest, having a rest after searching for food the whole day. She took a deep breath of greens, and smiled.

She looked closely at the fertile soil and saw ants busily carrying a crumb of bread and a dead beetle. She looked up and saw unusual fruit. It was oval, ridiculously small, blue and shiny, one dropped down, and she picked it up, placing it in her pocket. She turned her head back and realized that she was standing on top of a cliff, she was astonished at first, but was amazed by the waterfall and big lake below her, water glinting prettily under the sunlight.

The entire landscape was breath-taking. Clare had never seen anything so beautiful in her entire life.

They sat down and cherished the last moments of the wonderful sunset, and ended up talking to each other. It suddenly tuned dark, the clusters of glittering stars appearing on the moonlit sky. They decided it was time to go back, and have a good nights rest, but of course having a decent meal first, Clare was famished and so was Eddy. Eddy gained Clare's trust and they became good friends in just an hours time.

She burped and gave her stomach a good pat, she held the glass of water over her lips, drinking it in a single gulp, it quenched her thirst. She took out the odd-looking fruit she had picked up earlier and placed it near the campfire.

There was an awkward silence, none of them speaked. Clare just gazed at the moon, its luminous rays giving a coat of silver over the forest trees. Eddy just sat by the campfire, jotting down some notes in a book, not the one Clare saw earlier. Eddy closed the book with a loud thud, and stared at the fire. She joined him and took out the fruit she had caught earlier.

"Ah, the Fruit of Dreams, where did you get it?" he chuckled, grabbing it.

"It was from a tree, where we enjoyed the scenery just now," Clare replied. "What is it?"

"When you have a bite of it before you sleep, you'll dream of the future, although you could just eat it whole since its small," He handed back the fruit to Clare, and rested against a trunk of an old tree.

Clare placed it back and began to ask certain questions, "Were you the guy in the cave I saw?" she asked. Eddy nodded and shut his eyes. "How long did I pass out?" she continued.

"Two whole days, you must've been really exhausted," he croaked.

"Wow. May I ask you something? Don't be mad after I have told you this," she whispered, biting her lips.

"Ask me anything," he responded, eyes still shut.

"What is the Raven Star, I'm sorry but I've been looking trough your things," she asked in guilt. Biting her lips once more.

"Oh, it is our main source of energy, without it, we would be dead by now, for it is also our source of life," uttered Eddy. "I suppose the Helious Clan has already taken over Hemshire, am I right?" he paused. "What are you gonna do now."

"Yes, but I'm unsure if my mother is still safe in the village, I'm currently trying to search for her. But, what do they want in Hemshire?" asked Clare in confusion.

"Power, that's all they want. They're searching for the final orb to complete the deactivation of the Raven Star. But I'm sure they will not succeed. Those fools," Eddy spat. "Nothing but trouble, I won't be surprised to see one now, hearing our every word."

Just then, his words became reality. All of a sudden, the sound of crunching grass could be heard. Clare noticed the bush behind Eddy moving. She took a better glimpse, and saw two sinister eyes that glowed in the dark, but it could have been just a bat. However, she noticed that wrinkly face, that eye patch, it looked so familiar, she just couldn't put a finger on it.

She concentrated on the glowing eyes, and suddenly it stood up holding a dagger on his hands, aiming for Eddy's head. Her jaws dropped and could not believe what she saw. She shrieked in fear.

"Eddy, there's someone behind you, look out!"
