Eddy was alerted and dodged the incoming attack, just by an inch. The dagger Pirate held got stuck in the tree bark. Struggling to free the blade, Eddy took the marble from his pouch, it mysteriously turned into an arrow. He aimed for Pirate's head, but sadly, missed. Pirate managed to free the dagger , and it glowed, growing longer and longer every second, until it became a magical staff.

He chanted and a congress of ravens came rushing out from a portal, pecking on Clare and Eddy. They shielded their faces with their hands but thier body was defenseless. They yelled in pain, miserable. Suddenly, the arrow came flying back to Eddy, he squeezed it and turned it into a bolt of lightning, it emitted blinding light that caused the ravens to fly away, and Pirate covering his eyes with his arm. It was horribly bright, Clare could stand no more, and faced away. The ball of lightning finally calmed down and became a fireball. It rested on Eddy's palms, the flame swaying with the wind. Eddy held it behind his neck and threw it to Pirate. Pirate, just recovering from the blindness, was shocked to be attacked again, he tried to avoid the fireball, but it had already hit him in the shoulder. Steam began pouring from Pirate's shoulder, with traces of blood. The flesh turned red, he shrieked and fell to the ground.

"I see you've improved, Eddy," chuckled Pirate, trying to stand up.

"Indeed I have, Embreve. And I have no regrets of leaving the clan," said Eddy, lifting his palm, the marble floating on top of it. So Pirate's actual name was Embreve, like what Clare heard in the mines.

This time, he turned it into a long silver sword, its hilt encrusted with a ruby, an emerald and diamons. He placed the sword on Embreve's neck, warning him to leave, or it would cost his life if he denied. Still, Embreve did not move, not a muscle. His lifeles body on the ground. The fireball could not have killed him, could it?

Clare heard something rustle on top of her, someone came crashing down, placing a staff on her neck. It was no other than the one that chased her at Hemshire, Wimpy. Clare stood there, a shudder went down her spines.

"Kill him, and she's dead," growled Wimpy in a sinister voice, he had obviously healed from the wounds.

"Long time no see, ol' pal." Eddy looked back, the sword still on Embreve's neck. Clare took the advantage when he was distraced and elbowed him by the abdomen, causing him great pain. She swiftly dashed towards Eddy, hiding behind him.

"Drats, you will be dead little girl, mark my words," snapped Wimpy in anger. Eddy gave a smile, and brandished the sword towards Wimpy now, poiting to his chest. Wimpy held up both his hands, showing he surrendered. It wasn't over that east, they had something planned.

"Leave this instant, or I will kill you both," Eddy bellowed, this time poiting the blade in front of Wimpy's neck. Wimpy closed his eyes, and gave a ghastly laugh. He remained still for a moment, and opened his eyes, reveling his snake-like eyes, green and sinister. Eddy dropped his sword, and stood still, being hypnotised.

"Eddy, snap out of it," Clare gave a scream of fear. All of a sudden, she was grabbed by the leg, the hand pulled her to the ground. She fely a sharp object poiting on her back, she turned her head and saw Embreve, laughing with Wimpy. They were mad.

Eddy was not easily fooled. He flailed his clenched fist to Wimpy's face, giving him a good punch. He spat out blood from his mouth and staggered. Eddy grabbed hisboth his hands and kneed him in the face once more, while Wimpy was bending down. More blood poured from his mouth, and this time causing him to loose a tooth too.

Clare felt something prickle on her back, a part of her sword had already pierced trough her flesh. She gave a weak yell, clenched her fists, resisting the pain. Eddy picked up his sword and flourished it to Embreve's chest, leaving a long scar, dripping fresh blood.

However, Embreve did not give up easily, with a swift fling with his sword, a few boulders came crashing down on earth. One of them hit Eddy by his legs, crushing his every bone found in it. Fearless, Clare stood up despite the burning pain, took a small rock and pounded it on Embreve's head, ending the spell of pelting rocks. Eddy fell to the ground and fainted, much blood leaked out from his injured leg, Clare feared that he blood he was loosing would cause death. She could do nothing but to stand alone, and confront her enemies. She was outraged, what the enemies had done to her only friend at present. She felt rage building inside of her, and soon actually feeling it, it burned inside her heart.

Her eyes felt like they were boiling, her skin scorched. Her eyes soon emitted light, which amazed them both. Her flesh inside her body started glowing, her forhead revealed a scar, a crescent with a line across it. She could not control her body anymore, the power bubbling inside of her had now taken over her body, controlling every step she took. The two looked fearful and backed away, attempting to escape.

"Now, you will suffer, for what you have done to Hemshire, and Eddy," roared Clare in a voice, she never knew she had. In fact, it wasn't her anymore, it was as if a spirit had taken over her body, seeking revenge among the two. She started raising her hand, a concentrated burst of energy began forming in front of her palm. Rather frightful, they ran out into the woods, not looking back, not even a glance.

It was too late for running, no use. Both of them fell down, slowly moving towards Clare. The energy on her palms seem to act like some sort of magnet. They used their hands and gripped the ground, but it was useless, for the force on Clare's palms was much too strong. The aqua light was becoming brighter every minute, giving the forest a good shade of the colour.

When the two magicians stood laid in front of her, they were forced to stand up and face Clare. They're bodies also being controlled by the spirit. They exchanged worried glances and began murmuring, for Clare just stood there for quite a moment now. Embreve tried to pull out his sword, and pierce it trough Clare's heart, but once it reached her skin, the metal sword became bent, and was burnt to ashes. This made them gulped hard.

They started levitating, their arms and legs being twisted and broken. Their bodies being squashed by some invisible force. They screamed in pain, but Clare's heart became icy cold, giving no sympathy to the victims. Soon, the twisting and bending crawled up to their neck, which was the last of them. They were no more. They fell to the ground, lifeless, and started turning into ashes, being blown away by the wind.

Clare's state began to calm down, restoring to her original form, a normal human body. She had a high fever, and a terrible headache after what she had done. She stood on her knees, gasping for air, paralyzed on the ground. The side-effects of the transformation was fatal, her bones now feeling like ice, her flesh felt like they were being burned. She gazed at Eddy, it was a exciting fight, they were the ones that gained victory. She found out something inside her that was something inside of her too hard to accept. She was endowed, like any magician on earth. She was nothing but a monster, taking away two lives.

"I am a monster," she whispered weakly, eyes still fixed on Eddy. The transformation took up all her energy she had, she shut her eyes, and began drifting away to sleep. Right in the middle of the camp, with the dying embers of the campfire.
