Aliye
"Bentley, can I come over? I need help with this homework."
I heard a voice in the background who I presumed to be Brielle's, it sounded like her annoying voice.
"Uh, can you give me like an hour?"
"Never mind don't worry."
"Aw, come on. You sure?"
"Positive." I forced a joyful tone before hanging up.
I wasn't just upset at Bentley, more so upset and over everyone. I felt like no one had time for me these days. The very people who said, "you need to start working on yourself Aliye and when you do, I got you" were no where to be found.
Robyn was forever up under Kendall, Dahlia had gotten three jobs so she could move out which I really couldn't be mad at, and now Bentley was back up under Brielle I guess.
I took a deep breath to keep from getting myself worked up and placed the work down in front me analyzing it once more. My phone began ringing and Bentleys name flashed across the screen. I silenced my phone and tossed it somewhere on my bed.
Unable to keep focusing on the work I placed it to the side and got up scrolling into the kitchen. I peaked into my mothers room on the way and noticed she wasn't in there as she was forty minutes ago. I sighed knowing they'd called her into work and she accepted, on her one day off.
I opened the fridge seeing nothing that peaked my interest. Opening and closing the cabinets I sighed because there was absolutely nothing to eat. I leaned against the counter contemplating life because this was extremely depressing.
After a few minutes of thinking I was broken from my thoughts by a knock at the door. I looked down at my messy attire. I had on some comfortable house shorts, a fitted tank top, and my hair sat in a messy bun. I shrugged walking over to the door and seeing Bentley through the peephole. I rolled my eyes opening the door.
"Why you got a attitude now?" He stepped around me entering my house without me inviting him in. When I closed the door and turned around he was sitting on my couch and I walked over sitting on the couch as well but a nice distance from him.
"How you know nobodies home? Just stepping into my house like you crazy."
"Mama car ain't out there and neither is Dahlia's and Robyn with Ken. Mind your business. Now what you need help with?"
"Nothing I got it."
"So you did the work?"
"No."
"So you do need help."
"I don't."
"Go get the work Aliye."
"No thanks teacher."
"You have no shame in showing what a damn brat you are." He shook his head standing up and going in my room. He soon came back out with my textbooks and papers sitting it on the table in front of us.
"I don't need help Bentley."
He ignored me reading over the work. "You made the mistake right here. It asked to solve for X you solved for Y." He erased my mistakes holding out the notebook for me to take.
I looked at it and then back up at him. "I don't feel like doing it right now. I'll get back to it when I feel like it. I don't wanna work on your time. Is that okay with you?" I scoffed.
"But you want me to work on yours? That's cute."
"'Never said that."
"Your attitude says enough. Trust me."
