Dear Amelia,

That was one of my most favourite days. The day we snuck out of the detention room, the way I roamed through the school talking and laughing with you.

When you grabbed my hand and pulled me into a cupboard to hide from the security guard.

Eventually we crawled out of the cupboard and make it out of the school without incident. We skip the back fence and you led me through the paper-bark tree forest. We sit at the top of a hill in a clearing.

We found ourselves having sat down quite close to each other. Neither of us talk, but it isn't an awkward silence. I look at you and study your face.

Your hair a dark brown with streaks of a lighter brown, tousled and wavy. As you smile, it reaches your eyes. You have large eyes but it suits your face, you have strikingly light blue eyes with flecks of green.

We stay there for a while close to each other. Sometimes speaking of little things, sometimes not.

My eyes close for a moment and when I open my eyes you are suddenly closer, I look at you as you lean closer, I wish I was brave enough to close the distance between our lips.

But you are.

You lean forward and I close my eyes. Only to not feel your lips on mine.

You groaned and stood up fast, as I followed suit.

"Hey, it's okay, I know you have a boyfriend" I say slowly

"No, it's not that, I just.." you mumbled looking at the ground. Then suddenly you crash your lips onto mine wrapping your arms around my neck.

I used to hate the outdoors... I like it a whole lot more now....
