"You WHAT?!" my best friend from Ohio squeeled at me as I Skyped her the night after the fight.
Dad had been lethal about the situation and I was grounded from here on out. I didn't mind. I never went anywhere anyways unless it was shopping with one of my girlfriends from back home.
"Yeah, dude. She got in my face!" I exclaimed, and then quieted down when I heard dad shift in his seat downstairs. He had taken my phone away from me, but he'd forgotten about my laptop I'd bought myself.
I looked back at my best friend. She had short, frizzy, golden hair that she kept gelled back to tame it, a round face with dimples in both cheeks. Her nose was slightly off and little and her eyes were always a glorious color light blue. She was amazing to say the least and always fun to be around.
Right now she was laughing wildly at me.
"Shhhhh! You're gonna get me yelled at!" I whisper shouted though my face held a huge grin. I wasn't too bummed out about being suspended for three days. It was just an extra vacation and time to think over my classes I had been allowed to attend and complete yesterday.
"Man, I miss your fights. But I can't believe you crushed her nose!"
Yes. I had broken the beauty queen's nose. Not to mention there were a swarm of people who now hated me, and even Lilly wouldn't look me in the eyes hardly afterwards. I didn't mind.
I heard dad start up the stairs gently and slowly. When did my ears become this sensitive?
I signaled for Jessica to be quiet and quickly slid my laptop under my bed frame, and grabbed a book as I bellyflopped onto my sheets. My door swung open noiselessly. I acted like I didn't hear it.
"Liz..." dad said, almost cautiously.
I glanced up at him, an innocent look on my face.
"Yes, daddy?" I asked, trying to win back his trust.
"Your birthday is in a week, isn't it?" he asked, seemingly nervously as he swept my room with his eyes.
"Six days. Why? Got a big plan for me?" I questioned, a smile centering itself on my face.
"No, just making sure. We're going out that night, so just be ready."
That perked me up.
"Going where?" I asked as I brushed some hair behind my ear. He straightened and sighed.
"Just a surprise and some things I need to tell you seeing as to where you'll be eighteen now."
And with that he turned away and shut his bedroom door behind him.
Weirdo.

Unknown Person's-point-of-view
I can't believe she attacked the alpha's sister. And it was viscious too. The little girl showed no mercy as she punched and kicked her way through the fight. Annie didn't know what had hit her.
But the new girl.
There was just something about her that caught everyone's attention. The way she walked with her back straight, demanding respect. yet at the same time she was kind and seemingly innocent.
And she attacked Annie.
My wolf grinned at this thought. Annie needed to be brought down a notch or two. The alpha is furious though. Family is his number one priority other than the pack. he wants this girl out of town, or at least beaten down. And he wanted to do it personally. Try to break her spirit and intimidate her. Man, was he ruthless even when it came to females.
A knock sounded on the door to my office.
"come in," I said, not bothering to speak loudly. I knew Justin, the wolf who did all of my investigating for me, could hear me through the large oak doors. His face was slightly flushed and he steadily walked in.
"So...," I started. "Who is she?"
"Her name is Elizabeth Darnell. From the Darnell family. She moved here from Ohio with her father, who's also a wolf but was stripped of his wolf form years ago as consequence for mating with a human. But get this. She turns eighteen in less than a week."
I processed the information. She would transform next week then. But then I paused.
"So.... she's half human?"
Justin nodded, uncertain of what to do.
Humans were strictly not allowed to join any packs and if any unlucky werewolf bastard was to be mates with one, he was stripped of his "powers" right away and forced to keep quiet, unlesshe chose to deny his mate. None of us trusted humans. They were greedy people who only wanted to exploit anything unusual and supernatural to the public. We weren't about to become science experiments.
For this, I would need the alpha's second opinion.
