Retaliated: Chapter 9
~Nelle Bells P.O.V.~
"What do you want for breakfast, LJ?" I asked as I was wiping down the counter from earlier on. Ivanna was off in the living room talking to Lexis since she got to my phone before I did.
"Scrambled eggs, Mommy." He said with a yawn as he sat at the table playing with one of his toys. He was looking so much more like Trey as the days went by and I swear it brought back all the memories of when Trey was LJ's age. Makes me sad how fast all these years have gone by but that's life.
"Alright Daddy, I love and miss you very much." Ivanna said as she walked into the kitchen still pressing the phone to her ear and a smile on her face. I set the pan on the stove with some butter and grabbed three eggs out of the fridge. Cracking them against the side of the pan and putting the contents in a bowl for me to stir. "Bye Daddy, here's Mommy." She handed me the phone and took a seat at the table clear across from LJ.
"Hello?" I said into the phone as it rested between my cheek and shoulder.
"Aye Lil' Ma, what'chu doin'?" To hear his voice this early in the morning nearly put butterflies in my stomach just like every other time I hear this man's voice.
"I'm cooking LJ his breakfast, what are you doing?" When the pan was hot enough, I poured the yellow mixture in and began to scramble them around with a fork. "I thought you wouldn't be till noon, your time."
"I wish you were cookin' me somethin' but I've been up all night. Not even a bit of sleep so I'm gonna be turnin' in after I get off the phone. I just thought I'd give a call and see how all a y'all were." He said with a yawn. "Kids been good?"
"Ivanna's been good as always and LJ's been... well LJ." I looked over at him and saw he was trying to stack up the bananas. "He's trying to stack up bananas currently and I wouldn't be surprised if he started throwing them at Ivanna."
"This is why I'm glad I put a stop to more kids because could you be able to handle another possible LJ? I know I sure as hell wouldn't and don't you lie sayin' you wouldn't mind." I began to laugh as I put the scrambled eggs on a plate. Carrying it over to LJ, I walked back to the fridge and got the ketchup, drizzling it over his eggs because he can't handle doing that himself.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. I still want another but I already know the answer so I'm not going to press you anymore. Have you talked to the other boys?" Ivanna had already eaten so she just sat there patiently, playing with the ends of her braids.
"No and I'm scared to. I'll call you later on the evening, I'm just way too tired right now."
"Alright Hun, we'll talk later and I love you."
"I love you more, bye Lil' Ma." We hung up our lines and there was a knock on the door, in which Ivanna sprang out of her chair, running to answer the door.
"Hi Uncle Arlie, Hi Joel." She said with so much excitement. I walked over to the door and saw her hugging Joel.
"Good morning you two, come in." I said as I gave Arlie a hug first and then reached down to give Joel a kiss on his cheek. "What brought you all the way over here?"
"Hi Aunty Nelle Bells." He said before rushing off to the kitchen to see LJ. I didn't want LJ rubbing off any bad habits onto Joel since Joel is such a sweetie pie and it'll kill me if he's corrupted by the little monster Lexis and I have.
"I just wanted to let you know that I'm not gonna be here in Oakland anymore. I'm headin' out to Detroit because Varo's already on his way over there. Varo and I were both splitting the responsibility of Trey and IRG but since he's leaving, I'm not gonna deal with Trey on my own. So I wanted to let you know that now Trey is gonna be in charge of IRG-"
