Isaiah 26:4
"Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock."
Chapter 6:
It was Saturday morning and Dane as well as Sasha and I had decided to go to the local park to hang out. If you're wondering who's idea it was...well it was obviously Dane's. He thought it would be cool to reminisce about our past whist we 'played' at the park. As ridiculous as the thought is I have to admit that his childish side is addicting. He has this affect on you that makes you want to do what ever it is that he suggests. How could I refuse him when he said the whole idea behind it was to help unburden Sasha and her stress. She needed people to depend on and though Dane barely knew her he'd taken a liking to her and was more than happy to be one of those people on whom she could lean on in such a difficult time.
Sasha herself on the other hand was hesitant and uncertain to join us. I had tried t convince her but she refused me, her reason being that she felt uncomfortable around Dane especially after the way he'd found her. Fair enough. I hadn't even stopped to take that fact into consideration. She was publicly humiliated in front of Dane so I could imagine her distress of seeing him again. How ever it wasn't me that convinced her reluctant self to join us, no, it was none other than Dane himself.
I had told him that she simply didn't want to come but Dane being Dane tends to pick up on the minor details that no one bothers to ever mention. He had realized the reason behind her refusal without any assistance. He was too intelligent for his own good. He went out to visit her with a new proposal in my mind. He sat her down and this all from what she told me. He went on to explain that he ddin't see her as inferior in anyway because of her situation or because of the indecent way he'd found her. He also said that there was no reason to be embarrassed in front of him. It's not her fault that it happened. Sure she she shouldn't have taken up the whole party preposition up in the first place but for as long as I'd ever known her party is all she's ever known. She knows no better.
I am thankful to Dane for speaking to her. He opened her eyes to the fact that she need not be ashamed of herself. She said no but her choice didn't seem to matter at all in the end because that man acted on his own selfish intentions. Dane has somehow got her back on the right track though. I don't know he manages to always fix the broken but the does. I see the Lord use him everyday. Even if it's simple day to day tasks I always notice the Holy Spirit working in him. Dane is a special guy.
"So you moved here when you were thee years old?" I hear Dane ask from a distance because I had been lost in my own thoughts for quite some time now. I briefly glance to Sasha who nods quietly. "Wow so you've known Miss Muffet over here for quite some time?" I come out of my thoughts at the nickname Dane had been using on me lately and for what reason I will never know. He knows I hate it when he calls me that.
"Stop calling me that." I snap playfully and roll my eyes at him whilst he takes some amusement in my distress and simply chuckles.
"Yes unfortunately I have known Nat for far too long." Sasha jokes like she usually did on a daily basis but for the past week I hadn't seen this side to her. Never thought I'd miss her teasing side but I can honestly say that I did. I am glad that it's Dane who can give her back the old joy she once had. Well technically it's not Dane...it's Christ using Dane.
"Hey!" I whine and pout only for Dane to get off the sea-sore that he had been sitting on with Sasha on the other end. He walks up towards the jungle gym that I was currently sitting on before hopping on with much ease.
