CHAPTER 1
The call


"Love you, see you in a week." Mom says as she and dad are heading out the door. They are going on a 'vacation'. I on the other hand is stuck with my brother. He is pretty cool though. I am 12 and he is 16 so we got it good. He told me that mom and dad are spy. I did not believe him at first but I was looking in there office that they say not to go in but I did anyway I found mom and dads spy gear and weapons. They don't know I know and I would prefer to keep it that way. This is a super important mission. They had to stop a man who would kidnaped people and erase the memories and let them go. I was scared but I had my brother. Let me introduce my self I am Stevie, I know what your thinking Stevie is a boys name but I cool with it. My brother's name is TJ. I never wanted a sister because you can't tease them the way we tease each other and I like it this way. We stay up all night and eat junk food, we watch movies, we have a fun time. TJ has a girl friend and shes ok. She is in California right now to visit her mom and we are in Florida. We live in a three story house and my brother is jealous of me because I have the whole third floor for my room and my art studio. I am trying to get a school scholarship for art.

Three more days till my parents come home. I think when I am in bed and the next thing I here is "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, happy birthday Stevie, You smell like a monkey and you look like one to." He always mix up songs on purpose or by accident. He comes in with a big box. Present time. I say "You woke me up!" "GOOD" he says. We laugh. He hands me my present and I open it. I was so happy, I got a new easel and pencils. "Thank you, thank you" I say over and over. He says "you are very welcome and Mary (girlfriend) got you a $30 dollar gift car to hobby lobby." I can't stop stop smiling but that stops when the phone rings.
