Chapter 1: 17 year old freshman.
The next week goes quite well. You know, as well as it can go when you're preparing for two tests —Chemistry and physics— while you're bestfriend is into the world's biggest flirt aka Jay Thomas. This is all happening while my dad is breathing down my neck to start applying early for as many colleges as possible and don't forget to join a shit ton of homework and classes into the mix. Now that I think of it, my week sorta sucked.
I brush my teeth while listening to car radio by twenty-one pilots on my phone and shaking my hips a little then I have a shower which lasted as long as my american psycho album. I'm in a pretty good mood mainly because it's friday and nothing is going to bring me down. Actually scratch that, my high school can bring down the mood of a freaking unicorn. I wear a a plain white t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it, shorts and a pair of white vans because it's kind of cool this morning but it's still LA so be prepared for major heat in the afternoon. I put my hair up in a bun and text Maddy that I would be over there in five minutes. When I get to her house she's actually on time and comes out the moment I arrived.
"What took you so long?" She asks me once she's in the car.
"How are you early?" I countered. "And so put together?"
"What? I'm always put together."
"We both know how untrue that is." It finally hit me. "Let me guess, you're 'tutoring' Jay today aren't you?"
"Yup." She answers sheepishly.
"Not to be that unsupportive friend but you do know he's a player and I don't think you should get involved. He's a mess and you know it."
"I know he has a player reputation but he seems different around me. He sends me a goodnight text everyday and he's really sweet and funny and nice. I think he may be into me too because he doesn't flirt with other girls around me. Like ever." She rambles, a weird smile on her face.
"If he's playing you, I will personally cut off his testicles, make a smoothie out of them and feed it to him."
"That's extremely graphic and gross." She says scrunching her nose. "So you approve?"
"Honestly, I don't think he's a good person but you like him so I might as well give him a shot."
She utters some sort of grateful sound and hugs me.
"Hey! Hands off the driver!" I say laughing slightly.
We arrive at school finally and part ways. I walk to my first class which is American history. After that i have two other classes then a study hall that I have with Maddy.
"Hey!"She says smiling and taking the seat beside mine.
"Hey you." I say glad to see her. "So I was thinking maybe we could―"
"Sorry babe, but I can't― I have spanish homework. Miss Ramirez is being a bitch and wants us to turn in an assignment before noon today."
"When did she give it to you guys?"
"Three days ago." I chuckle when she admits it. "But she could've at least let us have it over the weekend."
I roll my eyes. "Just do it."
She smiles at me and opens her spanish textbook while muttering about hating everything not in english. I reluctantly pulled out my copy of Hamlet that we are supposed to read for English class. I love reading books but Shakespeare is just not for me. After about thirty minutes I got bored with the book so I pulled out my phone and played Piano Tiles. That game is pretty addictive if I do say so myself. The bell finally rings so I get up immediately waiting for Maddy while still playing the game. From the corner of my eye, I see that she had noticed that I was in my piano tiles mode so she just sighs and walks infront of me.
