The rest of the weekend went by more peacefully than you would expect, seeing as Wren just told dad about his art plans. Dad more or less just grumbled the whole weekend but mom advised him to talk to wren or he'll push Wren away.

Eventually he told Wren to follow his dream not dad's dream for Wren although as he was saying it he looked like he was about to shit his pants.  I really didn't pay attention to what was going on to be honest. Anyway, Wren went back to college on Sunday and all was well on planet Bramely.

On monday morning— if that word didn't just sadden you, then you have a problem my friend— I get up do my usual routine and go downstairs for breakfast. It's Maddy's turn to carpool so sure enough she's is already there waiting for me while stuffing her face.

"We're late." She says with food in her mouth.

"Then let's leave." I reply walking towards the front door. I turn around and see her still shovelling food into her mouth. "I can drive your car while you eat."

"Really? That's awesome!" She jumps up with her plate in hand and kisses me on the cheek, running out the front door.

"I'm the victim in this relationship!" I shout after her. "Bye mom." I add last second.

We get to school and part ways seeing as homeroom is already over. I drift through my classes until lunch break. When I get to the cafeteria and buy my food, Maddy is already at our lunch table surprisingly.

"Why are you here?" I ask sitting down cautiously. "What happened to tutoring doctor sexy?"

"Remember how you're always saying you love me and would do almost anything for me?" When I nod unsurely, she continues "Yeah, well keep that in mind."

"What did you do this time?"

"Well Jay asked me if he could sit with us for lunch today."

"What?"

"I know! Big step!" She replies obviously missing the point.

"I'm happy you guys have reached the 'sharing a lunch table milestone' but don't you think you should have given me some sort of head start?"

"I did." She defends and then looks up. "Which is about 10 seconds long because he's coming this way."

I turn around to see him heading over and Maddy basically screeches at me. "Don't turn around! He's going to know we were talking about him. Act super natural." She adds the last part in barely a whisper as Jay drops his tray noisily on our table and scraps a chair back.

"Hey, babe." He says to Maddy flashing a full grin. She replies by blushing furiously and leaning forward to peck him on the lips. I cringe inwardly and grab a fry from my pile throwing it into my mouth and looking anywhere but at the people about to full on French kiss right in front of me.

"Hey, Aspen." Jay says to me.

"Hey." I reply.

"Maddy has told me quite a lot about you."

"She literally won't shut up about you." I say earning a glare and a blush from Maddy. I smirk at her an idea forming in my mind. "She takes stalker pictures of you during your tutoring sessions and she makes out with a picture of you she printed and hung on her door. She also put yo —"

The sound of my soda falling from the table to the floor stops me. I look from Jays amused smile to Maddy's embarrassed pout and I grin.

"Seems like you need a new soda." she says, threateningly.

I smile at her and stand up to get a new one.

When I get out of the general area of my lunch table I pull out my phone and text Maddy a single kissy face emoji which she replies with a middle finger one.
