"People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right."

Chapter 2

Every step seemed to take forever. Many people frowned at the quick pace of the blond boy, as he was usually literally dragging his feet over the pavement, slowly moving himself forward, as opposed to the almost-running he did now, but the quicker he could get to Lukas, the better, so Arthur hurried more than he ever had.

It had taken him way too long, according to himself, before he reached Lukas' house. Panting, he knocked on the door, and Lukas' eight-year-old brother, Emil, opened the door.

"Arthur?" frowned the boy.

"Hey," panted Arthur, "Is Lukas...up yet?

"Yeah. Lukas!" screeched Emil loudly, and Lukas entered the corridor, blinking almost carelessly when he saw Arthur.

"Hello," said Lukas, staring blankly at Arthur.

"Hey," said Arthur, still panting.

"What're you doing here?" asked Lukas, "Got something to tell me?"

"Mmhm," panted Arthur, "May I come in?"

"'Course," said Lukas, pulling Emil aside. Emil struggled and began yelling, "Let me go!" Lukas didn't seem to care and let Arthur in.

"Happy birthday," said Lukas as Arthur passed.

"Thanks," replied Arthur. Lukas let Emil go and the younger boy glared at his older brother. "You're mean."

"I know. Thank you," said Lukas sarcastically, raising an eyebrow. "Now, Arthur, what did you want to tell me?"

"I got a visit today," began Arthur, "From a man who called himself Neville Longbottom-"

"Oh, him," said Lukas.

"And he told me that I have magical powers, and that I'll be attending Hogwarts, and he gave me this letter, look!" Arthur held out the letter mr. Longbottom had given him.

"Cool. I'm getting mine in May," said Lukas, "on my eleventh birthday."

"He told me we'd be going together," said Arthur, "It's the only reason I said I'd come."

"Don't think you'd be having a lot of choice, if you ask me," said Lukas, raising his eyebrow a little.

The door that connected the corridor to the living room opened, and Lukas' father appeared.

"Arthur," said Mr Bondevik, "What brings you here?"

"He's going to Hogwarts," replied Lukas before Arthur could.

"Oh, that's nice," said Mr Bondevik, "That means Lukas won't be going alone. Come in boys, we should talk about this with a good cup of coffee."

"Can I have some tea, maybe?" asked Arthur with a light frown.

"Of course!" said Mr Bondevik cheerfully. Arthur had, after all these years, still never understood how the older man's genes were in his friend and his friend's brother.

"Come on," sighed Lukas, following his father into the living room. Arthur followed Lukas and sat down on the couch.

"So, you got a visit," stated Lukas, "From Neville."
