The Innocent Look

A shot of pain sparks through my rib cage. I curl up into a ball from the pain. I let out a small gasp, nearly screaming. I close my eyes and I feel Emmett's hand rub my back. All he can do it sit and watch.
"Rose." I hear him faintly speak. I open my eyes in response.
"Emmalie is coming up the stairs I can hear her." He mumbles. I sit up in our bed and try to look at least healthy. In a matter of seconds the door slightly opens with a creaking noise. Emmalie peaks through before walking in. She notices us on the bed and she skips over to us, shutting the door behind her.
"Hi baby girl!" I say, still recovering from the pain. The baby definitely just broke my rib.
"Hi mumma." She snuggles in between Emmett and I. She lays her head down, staring up at us. I stroke her blonde curls. They're soft like flower petals. She's so beautiful. It's killing me that this may be one of our last moments together. I only have 5 days left and my health has never been worse.
"I missed you." She smiles.
"I missed you too." I snuggle in beside her, "I love you."
"I love you too." I hear her mutter. She warps her tiny arms around my neck. I feel her small pink lips press a kiss against my forehead. I can't help but smile and let out a small laugh. She's so cute.
"Hey! You can't forget about me." Emmett complains, jokingly. I look up at him and he puts on a fake frown. Emmalie giggles as she sits up and cuddles her father. She's so little compared to him. I lay and watch as Emmett wraps his arms around her. She closes her eyes leaning into his chest.
"Are you tired?" Emmett asks her.
"Yeah. I didn't sleep much on the way home." She mutters with her eyes still closed.
"You can go to sleep here." Emmett says. Emmalie opens her eyes and doesn't hesitate to lay down beside me snuggling into the blanket. She closes her eyes and after a few minutes she quickly falls into a deep slumber.
"She's asleep." Emmett whispers. I nod my head, sitting back up. I can't help but stare at Emmalie whilst she sleeps. I sit there and pick out all of the similarities that she has with Emmett and I. My blonde hair, His human blue eyes, her innocence pout from Emmett... The list goes on.
Suddenly I get a sudden urge to throw up. I shot my gaze from Emmalie to Emmett and he looks back at me.
"Are you okay?" He gives me concerned look.
I shake my head as I quickly jump up off the bed and over to our ensuite bathroom. I try to shut the door behind me but Emmett, at immortal speed, rushes over and stops it with his hand from closing. I throw open the toilet lid and sit on my knees, spewing into the bowl. Emmett holds my hair back. After a while, I cough and finally gain control. Weakly, I flush the spew down the toilet staring at the floor. Emmett kneels down beside me.
"Rose please don't do this." He brushes a lose strand of hair out of my face. I watch his hand then stare back towards him. I shake my head.
"No." I lift myself of off the floor, "I don't want to talk about it."
Emmett stands up and brings me into a hug.
"I just don't want to lose you." He pauses, "please, please- Rosalie please."
I burry my face into his chest. I inhale his scent. How I'm going to miss it.
"Not now. Can we talk about this later?" I lift my head to look up at him. He slowly nods. I break the hug, grabbing his hand and leading him back to our bedroom. Emmalie still lays asleep. I walk over and sit beside her caressing her blonde curls. I'm going to miss my little miracle. I remember holding her for the first time. I also remember watching Emmett hold her for the first time. She was so tiny compared to him. She still is tiny. I love being a mother. I love every second of it. That's why I want to do it all over again. But I don't think I'll have the chance...
Emmett sits beside me. He puts an arm around my waist.
"Look after her. Please." I speak. Breaking the silence.
"Rosie. Don't do this. Stay." He practically begs.
I shake my head.
"You know how I feel about-"
He cuts me off,
"- I know. But I need you. I don't think I can live with out you."
I turn to face him. His innocent look is back. The look that looks so out of place on a grown mans face.
"You need to look after Emmalie and the new baby."
I feel a cold tear rush down my cheek. I wipe it off. I stare down at my hands. They're skinny, and I can see every bone sticking out. I sigh.
"Please." I add.
"Rosalie please stay. Not just for me but for Emmalie as well!" He begs.
I shake my head.
"I'm doing this for the new baby. Emmett their life has already begun and I don't want to end it."
"How do you expect me to love something that killed you!" He raises his voice. I shot him a glare.
"It's a baby not a monster! The baby needs you."
I hear the bed sheets ruffle and Emmalie let out a big breath. I turn to her worried that she might wake up. She opens her eyes for a bit, looking up towards me.
"Go back to sleep baby, mummy's right here." I coo. She doesn't react, instead she closes her eyes again. She instantly falls back into a slumber.
"Can we talk about this later." I mumble. I don't look up at Emmett. I keep my focus on Emmalie. I hear him sigh.
"Yeah. I just want you to know that I love you." He mutters.
"I know you do. I love you too."
I feel a light peck on my cheek.
"I think I'm going to sleep too." I add.
Emmett stands up and at vampire speed he raced to his side of the bed. I uncover the sheets, sliding into them. I lay down with Emmalie in the middle of Emmett and I. I close my eyes and after a while I hear Emmett mumble,
"My Angels."
