Erika sat in the kitchen talks to her best friend Doug. Since they didn't know where to go today, they just chilled out at his house.
"Valentines Day is coming up." He called out.
Erika cringed.
"I know, I don't have a Valentine.." She said softly.
"Me either. I can't stand Valentines," he lied. He actually adored this day for the simple fact, Erika was his Valentine every year, he just didn't tell her.
"Same here. What's the point of having a holiday dedicated to love anyways." She said fixing her glasses.
Doug sighed. He had already planned everything out. The young man was going to take her out on a candlelit dinner, then go on a walk beside the lake, and lastly give her a diamond charm bracelet with the letters of her name on it. Erika loved jewelry, so Doug knew she'd love this.
"Erika, listen..be my Valentine."
She choked on her water.
"What?"
"Be my Valentine, I like you and I just didn't know how to ask you all of these years..."
"Of course Doug!" Her face lit up.

"Wow, this is so pretty," She looked around outside.
"Did you set this up yourself?"
"Yes, I did." He blushed a little and she pinched his cheek.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out the bracelet.
"Let me see your wrist."
He fastened it around her wrist and she smiled.
"Doug I love it! It's so beautiful."
"I love you so much Erika."
"I love you too Doug."
