Jerome POV:

Earlier today, I got a text message from Man telling me to meet him at the old abandoned warehouse that we were keeping Snake at. I was supposed to be meeting up with Leilani and Mookie for lunch so that we could finalize the details for the twins' upcoming birthday party. Man and Snake would just have to wait, until I finish handling my business.

To be honest, I wasn't even trying to get into that shit with Man. My days of killing people were over and behind me. That also didn't mean I wasn't going to come through for my family.

I called Man and let him know that I'd be late getting to the warehouse since I had to handle this shit with Mookie. I drove up the driveway and parked in front of the house. I grabbed my phone from the cupholder and got out of my car before walking up the steps that led to their front door.

"Hello!" I sang loudly as I opened the front door. It was unusually quiet and it was odd since the kids were usually running around like crazy. I walked all throughout the house until I found Mookie in the nursery getting CJ dressed. His fat ass was kicking his big chunky legs and babbling while he was munching on his fingers.

"Hey." Mookie said breathlessly as she stood Christian up to put on his pants. I had just realized that she only had on a robe. I didn't help that it was short and damn near see through. I tried to look away, but shit I couldn't. "You're early."

"Yeah, I was already out so I just came over here." I told her as she nodded her head. I watched as she finished getting him dressed and then putting on his little Jordans. "You want me to watch him while you get dressed?" I offered.

"If you don't mind. Thanks." She said as she passed him to me. Damn. This little nigga was heavy. I followed her out of the nursery and she went up the stairs to her floor of the house.

"Where's everybody else at?" I asked. I was used to the house being loud and kids being everywhere. It was kind of odd that it was actually quiet.

"Well the older kids are at school, Ms. Yolanda is out with some of the ladies from church, my parents wanted the babies but Christian was fussy so I kept him, and Demarcus is downstairs in his room." She explained as she went into her closet to look for an outfit to wear for today. "Justycee is on her way over to look after Marcus while I'm out."

"His fat ass is always crying about something. Titty baby self." I said smacking my lips, making her cut her eyes at me. "He is and you know it!"

"You're a titty baby too Jerome. He's a baby, what's your excuse? You cry and complain just as much as he does." She shot back making me roll my eyes.

"Chill out man." I mumbled making her laugh lightly as she finally pulled out an outfit for her to wear. She looked at for a moment before putting it back on the rack. I rolled my eyes, knowing she'd take a while to pick out an outfit.

"Chill out man." She sang, mocking me.

"Why are you so childish?" I asked as I sat down in the lounging chair with CJ's heavy ass in my lap. He grabbed onto my gold chain with his chubby fingers and began pulling on it. "Move, big ass little boy." I said trying to pry his hands off of my chain before he broke it. This little nigga was strong.

"Do you want him to be yours? Is that why you're always throwing shade at him?" Mookie asked with a smirk on her face. I smacked my lips and rolled my eyes, but I didn't respond. "I was just wondering; no need to get an attitude. Calm down."

"Do you want Lay to be yours?" I asked her as I raised my eyebrow.

"I love her like my own, but no. I wish you wouldn't have made a child outside of our marriage but hey, life happens." She shrugged. We were both silent for a long ass time as I watched her look through all of the clothes she had.
