Chapter 8 Stalker Much

Chapter 8 [Adora's POV]

It's been 2 weeks since we watched the tape. It took me forever to calm Daniel down and we ended up sleeping on the couch in the movie room. He really wanted to remember the past, he didn't want it to be relayed to him he wanted to remember for himself. It's hard to imagine something so tragic happening to me as a child. We talk about it sometimes like if the man was caught and why we were so naive. We became really good friends connected by a tragedy. Today we decided to sit outside in the cool December air that chilled our bones and drowned our thoughts. We didn't talk all we did was stare at the frost laden ground.

Daniel was resting his head on my shoulder when he looked up and said "Hey, um I've been working on a new project and I was wondering if you'd like to go see it?"

He wasn't looking at me, he was gazing past me. I thought he was over his shyness towards me but I guess I was wrong. "Sure I'd love to go see what you're working on....Daniel what's wrong?"

He was glaring, he looked like a wolf defending what was rightfully his.

I turned my head slightly to see what he was staring at but he grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes, and said "Adora we need to go inside, now."

Without a word he got up and dragged me inside. I didn't know what was going on but I trust his judgment. We were headed down the West wing towards Daniel's room when we saw a horde in our path. They were in front of Daniel's door like unauthorized bouncers, Darius and Gabby.

I looked up at Daniel and he seemed unfazed so I decided to act unfazed as well I said "Hey guys, what's up?"

My question received mixed reviews I got a awkward wave from Darius and a glare from Gabby, no oral response from either of them.

I looked up at Daniel, he had a stern look on his face like someone in authority he said "Can you guys move aside? You're blocking my door and we need to get inside."

Gabby scoffed "You can go inside but we need to have a word with your unofficial girlfriend Adora."

She was trying my patience I said "Excuse me, Daniel is my friend and I doubt what you have to say is so important that you couldn't wait till I went to my room."

She let out a humorless laugh "Wait till you go to your room, and when might that be seeing as you're barely ever in our wing? Ever since you meet this guy you've been acting like you don't have other friends."

Daniel grumbled and said "This guys name is Daniel and it's not like she was avoiding you people. In fact ever time we got near you guys you would leave like we were invisible."

"That's because we want to hang out with Adora not you, and quite frankly I don't want to get to know you, creep."

I turned around and saw the owner of those words to be none other then Adam. He was walking up to us ever so slowly like he ruled the world. I could Daniel was seething as he glared at Adam with clenched fist.

"What's up with you always calling me a creep at least I don't stare at people from a distance like some stalker or was it a coincidence that I find you staring at Adora whenever I'm with her." Daniel said while stepping up in Adam's face.

Was Adam really stalking me, I mean from time to time I would feel eyes on me but I thought I was just being paranoid. It was silent until Darius started laughing.

"Am I supposed to believe that crap, my brother a stalker yeah right. Just because you're a creep doesn't mean everyone else is." He laughed "My brother a stalker hilarious, right Adam?"

Adam and Daniel were still up in each others faces glaring as if at any moment they would get heat vision and destroy their foe. Adam was the first break eye contact as he shoved Daniel away from him and stalked off the way he came. The fact that he didn't defend himself is making me nervous maybe he was stalking me. That's crazy talk, I've known Adam forever we may not be close friends but he doesn't seem like a stalker, does he? I need to clear my head before I destroy my brain with worry. I looked up and Darius and Gabby were gone I didn't even notice them leave.

"Where'd they go?" I wispered.

I wasn't sure Daniel even heard me but he looked down and said "They went off after Adam. You know what I said was true right? Adam has been following us, following you that's why I said we should go inside because he can't follow you into my room."

I had no reason not to believe Daniel but, it scared me to think that I was being watched by Adam. I just don't want that to be true.
I looked at Daniel and answered with a small okay. Not affirming whether I was saying yes to believing him or not, just an okay to say I understood the information. I turned away from Daniel and started heading for my room. He didn't once make a move to stop me he just let me go.
