Darling's POV
I awoke in my small room. The weekend always feels so good, especially when waking to the sparkling morning light.
I blinked and my vision cleared up revealing my dad who stood there with a pale green Ralph Lauren polo on and some khakis. His hair, salt and pepper shaded by age, and his glasses added to his attire, and mind you the coffee mug in hand, had made him seem always so confident as a widower...having lost mom...
"Good morning, Darlin'!" he said with a grin on his face.
I groggily sat up and rubbed my eyes,"Hey,Dad..."
"It's nine o'clock! Normally you are up at six. Everything alright?"
I blinked,"Yeah."
"Well listen kiddo, I have a client who has quite a few trashed up but expensive books that need repaired. He told me he has a whole book case full-"
"And last week it was a library that needed every book primed up,yeah yeah,"I interjected.
"Hun, I know I'm busy but you know I'm trying my best and it is rough without your mom-"
"Dad-"
"Good news is the fridge is totally stocked just for you! You're looking a lil' thin and I got you all your favorites. I'll be back late tonight, this guy is paying a pretty penny for this collection to be fixed up."
"Okay," I replied followed by a yawn so big my jaw popped and echoed through the room.
Dad was already down the hall as he called,"I love you! Have a great day!"

Ruth's POV
I went for a morning run, my best yet! I ran my small development, down the main road, through the park, and into my favorite scenery yet; the rich hood! Yes my friend, it is where the rich folk live in their lovely and elegant large houses. Pfft.
I jogged along slowly in their peaceful neighborhood admiring lawn structures and furniture, houses with fancy gates an-
Decks.
I slowly came to a halt, my heart shaking my body and sweat silently streaming down my face as I saw Darling sitting on the deck eating something that didn't look breakfast appropriate. Yeah yeah why should I judge? Spaghetti is the shit when it's breakfast. But for someone so thin as her...so rich, where's the formality?
She turned and saw me and stood up from her white wicker chair. And I ran the other way. What if she calls the cops on me?! I already got in trouble with school!
"RUTH!!!" she called.
But I was halfway down the block and I wasn't going back.
