Victor was one tough son of a bitch. He had made it through the UIR FOB, and from before E-Day to now of locust torture. Most gears wouldve given in by now and in the least tried to gain they're freedom by revealing some major secretes. But Victor had made it through. "So, where is Johnson anyway, I can't wait to see an old friend?" Victor asked. A moment of silence followed, "I'm sorry sir, but he's dead." I responded as I pulled the cog tag out from under my armor. "He died a hero though, just like he lived. He took out one of the locust leaders in his last moments. Sons of bitches got his son too...... And too my two of my brothers just a few days ago."

"So Jr. Is dead too.... I seen him when he was still scooting around on the ground.... I'm sorry son. So I guess you've seen a lot." He said as he leaned forward and put his hand on my shoulder. I just stared at the ground in silence.

All of a sudden the Raven stopped moving forward and began to land. "Commands orders, sorry sir." The raven landed and we were told to get out. There was an argument in the cockpit and one of the piolets got out. "Don't know why but command said to ditch Victor, I figured you guys wouldn't want to, and I didn't want to as well so now 2-4 only has 1 eye."

"Why would they want us to ditch him?" Ryan asked with his high pitch voice. "I might know why..." Victor claimed "I may or may not have done some things on the op before past that went against protocol, our mission was to kill every UIR affiliated civilian and soldier in one of the towns, they asked us to kill the babies, no matter how old, and elderly, no matter how old. I didn't want to kill the kids... I had to do my job, at least a little.... Unfourtunetly....
So I let every kid I encountered run out of the city. Command seen this as treason so I was set to court martial. But Mrs.Fenix seen my credentials and demanded that I go with her on her experiment. The COG knew exactly where I was from day 1, they just thought that leaving me was better that court martialing me. Looked better on the record, MIA, not Unhonorablly Discharged. So I was left there to rot. And I dont blame them."

That was deep. I could never do that if my orders demanded me to. "Why not blame them sir?" I asked "they abandoned you for doing the right thing.". He stared at the ground for a minute and then said " orders are orders, good soldiers follow orders. they want to leave me alone again. So why don't you?" I thought about it for a second and then I said "because sir, you did the right thing, that's what makes you a good soldier not following orders. Just Like the right thing to do here is to come with you instead of let you fend for yourself." I could tell that he wanted to smile, but he kept the tough look he had on his face.

"You know, you're right. I did the right thing that day, and you Carmine, youve done the right thing as well. Although all I want help with is getting to the nearest city, then I want you to go back to your duties." "Sir, with all due respect, I don't think they want us back after this. We are going against orders." "Yes but its to save an old war hero, Hoffman will understand, haha, he was always stubborn, but not an idiot. He wouldn't leave behind a squad with some of the best pedigree in the entire COG. Trust me kid, it'll all be fine"

Those four words. 'It'll all be fine'. I don't think I can trust anyone that says those words any more. I don't know if I can trust anyone any more. No one except my two remaining brothers...
