As the story of the Salvatore's went only were there brothers.What it didn't tell was that there was a sister,her name was Stella and she was Stefan's older sister and Damon's younger sister.
There were three Salvatore's in love with one Katherine Pierce.The brother who loved her to much,the brother who didn't love her enough,and the sister who didn't know just how special and loved she was to Katherine.
