Katherine was standing over her with a smile on her admittedly beautiful face.
"Hello, Miss Stella, I was wondering if you would accompany me to the apothecary later on in the day?"
"It would be my pleasure, Miss Katherine." Stella agreed immediately, probably a little too eagerly because at her quick response Katherine giggles fill the calm air and her heart.
This fondness was unacceptable and her father would have more than words for her if he found out, but she couldn't help but not care. There was a beautiful woman standing above her with an even more beautiful smile on her face, and she was going to enjoy them both for however long she could.
"Shall we get prepared?"
"We shall."
Stella picked herself up using only her abdomen and the rush of breath Katherine exhales can be blamed on the heat, not on her growing affection for the middle Salvatore.

They did go to the apothecary and there they had a mini fight using the herbs and labyrinth-like layout of the store. Of course Mr. Goodall, who worked for Pearl, was not amused and Stella knew that her father would hear of her unladylike behavior but since she was with Katherine she ignored the nagging feeling in the back of her head. Once her house came into view her worry increased tenfold and it was Katherine who finally addressed the mounting tension that came upon Stella's shoulders.
"Are you feeling well Miss Stella, you are breaking into quite a sweat."
"I am okay..." Stella hesitated to say more, lest Katherine tell her father but from what she had seen Katherine was someone she could trust. "It is just my father that I am worried about Miss Katherine."
"You need not worry, if you want I can take the blame for our earlier actions." Seeing the sorrow in the younger girls eyes Katherine could not help but want to help her and stop the watering of those viridescent eyes.
"I couldn't let you do that. If my father thought that you were a bad influence he would surely force you to leave and I am quite fond of your company." Stella avoided eye contact with Katherine at her last words and held the door for the other girl once they had reached her large house.
Since her back was slightly turned she missed the heat that wanted to rush towards Katherine's cheeks if she had blood, sadly she didn't but the sentiment was not lost on her and she felt warmth in other places, like her cold heart.
"Well if you need any assistance then I am at your disposal." Katherine finally walked through the door and before she retired to her room she gave a quick kiss to Stella's cheek.
Thankfully they were out of view, or so they thought.
Stefan watched with a furrowed brow as Stella's cheeks took on color and Katherine gained a triumphant smile. He brushed off his suspicion because assuredly the two girls were just becoming friends. Once he and Katherine made their relationship official, then Stella would be the first to congratulate her good friend and her brother.
Stella had a similar train of thought, only hers took a darker turn. She couldn't keep her feelings to herself and she found herself falling more and more for Katherine as the days went on.
Not only did Stella get into trouble with her father that night, he also hit her for the first time. Their screaming match was heard by everyone in the house but only Katherine acknowledged her in the middle of the night. Her stomach was rumbling and her cheekbone throbbed with pain that radiated throughout her entire skull, it was too distracting so she could not find a comfortable position to sleep in. A series of soft knocks on her door were all she heard before the door was opened just as quietly. Katherine's head peeked in and Stella blearily saw a plate of food in her small hands, she sat up and avoided looking at the nightgown that Katherine chose to wear.
