Britten
I sat impatiently on the couch, waiting for Mira to come home. We didn't have our TV yet (We ordered one a couple days ago), so I was watching a Netflix show on my laptop and scrolling through tumblr. It was about ten o'clock and we had to register for school in the morning. We were applying to the same school as Tyler and Alex, and either I was scared to be by myself or scared to be without Alex, but I wanted every class I possibly could with him.
Mira came in the door around eleven with our mail in her hand as I was drifting off to sleep. I quickly sat up, almost knocking down my laptop.
"Britten..." Mira said when she saw me. She shut and locked the door behind her. "Were you waiting for me?" I slowly nodded my head. She laughed and said, "You didn't have to." I shook my head and said, "Yes I did. I want to know where you went, what happened, and how it happened."Mira sighed, sat next to me on the couch and began, "Okay, well..."

"And Tyler has a little crush on you, too." Tracy said. Dragons flapped their oversized wings inside of my stomach as grinned. "Okay, I'm leaving, see ya!" Tyler quickly rushed out of the room, embarrassed that his mom was telling his secrets... How cute. Tracy laughed and said, "I don't know about you, but I'd run right after him." So I smiled and went after Tyler.
When I walked into the room, Tyler was lying on his bed, flipping through his phone. He turned his head and when he made eye contact with me, his phone slipped out of his hand and hit him in the face.
I laughed and said, "Are you okay?" He covered up his face and rolled over, grunting in pain. "Yea, I'm fine." He said. "I just... I wasn't expecting that." He sat up on the bed while I decided to sit next to him. "Expecting what?" I asked, more confident now that I knew he had feelings for me. "Uh," his face turned red. "I wasn't expecting to see you." He admitted. I made a pouty face and said, "What's that supposed to mean?""Oh, no, not in a bad way I just thought you were Alex-"
"So I look like a boy now?" I pressed on.
"No- you're a girl, you're pretty- I mean no- I mean you are pretty, you're pretty hot- what?"
I laughed at him and he frowned. "Why'd you do that to me?" Tyler said, his face becoming red again. "I'm sorry..." I apologized, still giggling. After a short pause, I said, "You know, you're pretty hot too." This time, he turned his head to look at me and smiled. I melted inside, noticing his dimples. They weren't deep, but they were noticeable... kind of like a crush.
"I'm not the only one, huh?" Tyler said. Though it was quiet, the silence spoke for us. It spoke our feelings, words we wanted to say but were too scared to. After a moment, Tyler broke the silence. "What would you say if someone asked you out tonight?" He asked, confidence in his tone. I shrugged, still smiling. "Depends on who it is." I teased. "What if it was me?" He said. I tapped my fingers on my chin, pretending to think about it. "Hmm, maybe." I responded.
"MIRA LETS GO!!!" I heard Britten yell. I frowned. "We can use my mom's car, don't worry." Tyler mentioned. I looked at him, then at the door and back at him. "Yes." I said. "Yes what?" Alex asked, confused. "Yes, I want to go on a date with you." I answered, smiling. "But I need to get dressed." I stood up, beginning to walk out of the door.
"Wait," Tyler stopped me. "How do you know where we're going?" I thought about it for a second. Maybe I don't need to dress fancy. "Where are we going?" I asked. He reached for the back of his neck and looked toward the ceiling. He must be thinking. A second later, he said, "let's go to Santa Monica Pier."
