Britten

I know your secret, I read. It would be a shame if everyone found out.

This time the paper wasn't signed with XXX, it was signed anonymous with a heart. I didn't know what games this girl was trying to play, but whoever she was, it was starting to make me upset. How did she even know I'd be at Starbucks this morning? Did she tell the cashier to stick it on my frappuccino cup- or maybe she was the anonymous girl.

"Look." I placed the note and Mira's drink in front of Mira and sat down. "What is she talking about?" Mira said. I shrugged, nervously sipping on my drink. "What secret? I don't have secrets! I'm freaking out." I said in a frantic manner.

"Okay look, we're going to find out, don't even worry about it." Mira assured me. "You've got a lovely boyfriend and an even lovelier best friend here with you." I laughed and thanked her just as a girl with short, colorful hair and Ray-Ban's walked up beside us. . .

"Hey, haven't I seen you around before?" She asked with a bright smile. She actually did look kind of familiar. "I think we have Mr.Frank's Spanish class together..." She said, trying to stir up some memory. "Oh yea, I remember!" Mira said. "She sits at, like, the front of the class or something."
"Well hey!" I said, pushing out the chair in front of us. "If you don't have anywhere to be, you can sit with us." She nodded. "I think I will. I usually start my day here on Saturdays and it's good to make new friends." She explained. She seemed like a cool person.

"Well how's your day planned out?" I asked her. She started explaining how she goes for a jog after this and then eats, but she hadn't planned anything after that.

"Mira and I here are thinking about having a movie night when we get back home since we've finally got our new TV." I informed her. She raised her eyebrows in interest. "You should join us." Mira suggested. "Sounds like fun! I think I'll be there." She said and smiled.
"Cool, what's your number so I can text you the details?" I asked. "555-645-3902"
"And I never got your name either." I said while putting her number in my phone. "Oh right, sounds like something you'd need." She said. "My name is Nora."

Mira and Britten walked into our house with bright smiles on their faces. They weren't wearing the outfits they'd been wearing when I last saw them, but instead athletic clothes.

"What's up with you two?" Tyler asked before I could. The show he was watching was on commercial. "We just made a new friend." Mira responded, plopping down next to him. "Yea," I added. "we met her in Starbucks and-"
"You know, it seems like Starbucks is the only place we ever meet people." Tyler pointed out. We all made sounds of agreement. "Anyways," I continued. "She said that she goes on morning runs after she gets her coffee, so we decided to run with her and we all went to whole foods after to make organic sandwiches."

I laughed and said, "aren't all sandwiches organic?" Britten rolled her eyes. "No, stupid." I poked out my lip, pretending to be offended. "Don't call me stupid," I said. "That hurts my feelings."
Britten walked toward me and grabbed my face in her hands. "Aww, I'm sorry, you're not stupid," she apologized. I smiled, feeling like I had won. "Idiot." I heard her mumble as she walked away.
"What?" I said in confusion.
"Huh?" She responded.

"Well I think it's pretty awesome that you've made a new friend." Tyler said, looking at the both of the girls. "Yea, and she's joining Britten and I for movie night." Mira explained. "I think she'll love it." Britten said.
"I love movie night! Can I join?" Tyler asked. I shook my head. "Girls only, Tyler, you know how this works."
"It never hurts to try." He replied.
