17: Simone and Marshy

Marshall POV

"Well first about me and Ice Queen..."

"It all happened during the Mushroom War. I was only a little boy. I ran away from home because of my mother. She just annoyed me so much I couldn't handle it anymore. So I went trough a portal which brought me to the place where the Mushroom War began. I walked around the streets and looked for something to eat or drink but I didn't find much. I was very lonely and frightened. I mean I was in the middle of a war. Then this nice woman came. Her name was Simone and she was a better mother than my actual mom. She was also the one who gave me Hambo. That's why Hambo means a lot to me.

So me and Simone walked around and fought for our lives. She had that crown, which gave her Ice Powers. It protected us but every time she wore it, she went crazy and couldn't control her self. I didn't like when she put it on and every time she did I had to knock the crown off of her head and get her back and stop acting all crazy. But everything seemed to get better. Well that's what we thought but it was actually the opposite. The few monsters that were left from the war all gathered together to attack us. AGAIN Simone used the crown to protect us but this time she had to use it longer than usually, which made her go totally crazy. I couldn't help her anymore. I got away from her and went back to the Nightospher. After that they she was no longer Simone, she was the Ice Queen." I finished.

"Oh. That's sad. I thought she has always been that crazy." Fionna said.

"No. She was...nice. I-I wish she would've never got that crown."

"But it also protected you."

"Yeah! I know but I'm sure we would've found another way to protect us."

It was silent for a while. I did lose a lot of people I cared about. At least I have Fionna and I will never let anything happen to her. I couldn't handle losing her, too.

"You know what?" she asked.

"What?"

"Cake always said: Bad things are always followed by something good. No matter what." She started crying. "I hope they're alright." I hugged her very thight.

"Don't worry we will find them."

She soon fell asleep in my arms.

"I promise Fi."

Fionna POV

We woke up early and continued our walk. I took out a few strawberries for Marshall out of my back and a sandwich for me.

"So why do you think he/she kidnapped them?"

"I'm not sure but I don't think he/she actually wants THEM."

"What do mean?"

"What I mean is...I think he/she is just using them to get to us. Or actually to get us to them."

"Shouldn't we be prepared for traps then?"

"I got a plan. If we find them we split. I go and you stay and hide. If I'm not back after a day you get help."

"THAT'S A STUPID PLAN!!!"

"Wha-Why?"

"I don't need help!!! And what is if something happens to you?"

"As long as you can't figure out something better that's the plan. And besides I'll be fine."

"Whatever you say..."

It was getting dark again so we decided to rest for a bit. I had a bad feeling like someone is watching us. And I guess Marshall felt it, too, because he was looking around very carefully and checking for some weird things. The presence was still there but we decided to ignore it. I laid down and closed my eyes. I slowly drifted to sleep.

I woke up by somebody tying my hands and feet together. I quickly opened my eyes and tried to get up but failed.

"AAAHHHH!!!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! I'LL KICK YOUR BUTT!!!! MARSHALL!!!!"

"Oh, Marshall? He isn't here!"

I turned around to see who it was and I couldn't believe my eyes...
