Chapter 8: Emma's POV

That morning was a pain. I never thought of Maggie to be so stuborn. I had just met the darn girl and she was quite rude to me on facetime. I thought I was quite polite to her and kind. Whatever. Today was the day. The day where I got to pretend to be her. That morning I had gotten dress putting on some cute jean shorts that were studded on the back pockets and a different tee with a different American flag. The American flag was faded out on this tee in black and white. I slid my hair under a wig net then put the wig on over it. After that I put on some mascara and eyeliner along with some coverup. I thought of curling some pieces of hair from the wig just to look nice but Maggie made it clear over facetime that she never curled her hair. What a debbie downer. I wore some leather high heel boots making me look taller. Had to look atleast hot for the competition. Once when I was done, I went down to the lobby then called a cab. Once the cab arrived, I told him to take me where the competition was that Luke told me to meet him at in my best American accent. He didn't ever asked where I was from. Awesome! I was soo pulling off this I'm from America thing. Once we got there I paid the taxi man then stepped out of the cab. "Here it goes", I said to my self, "My America adventure".

The skateboard park had ramps of all sizes everywhere. There had to be over 300 people there. I took out Maggie's phone and began to text Luke.

"Here. Where r u?"

He texted back immediately. "Been here. Where r u?"

I looked around. I was standing by some Monster energy drink area.

"By the Monster Energy drink area".

Before I knew it, a girl with short black hair with a stripe of piurple in her bangs came up to me.

"Dude where have you been. The comp starts in 10 minutes."

"Excuse me. What?" I asked.

"You got in!! You get to compete. Now grab your board and let's get over there quick and might I ask just what are you wearing for shoes?". I looked down at my feet. "They are leather boots with high heels to add some height".

"Girl you are funny but seriously wrong time to put on a joke. Here you can borrow my shoes in my bag."

The girl grabbed my arm and dragged me through the crowd of people. Many wore shirts with bands' names on them. I had no clue what any of the bands were. Plus they had crazy hair as well. A lot of people had piercings or mowhawks. I looked over to the girl who was dragging me over to some competion that was going on. She was shorter than me and was a big girl. She wore a purple sweatshirt that said," DC", with the D and C connected. She had an eyebrow piercing as well.

"I don't think this is a good idea," I said. "I mean I don't even have my skate board", in my American accent.

"Really dude. Oh well you can just borrow mine". She handed me her skate board.

"Thanks", I said not excitingly.

Once I got over to the competition, there were ten other girls there in line to compete. I watched as one girl went off a ramp back and forth. There was a judge table where three judges would hold out a card with a number. I guess they did that to rate the tricks. The girl with the eyebrow piercing and purple bangs had brought me up to a table. She had me put on her smelly tennis shoes. Yuck!

"Please check in", said some guy with no shirt on. He had his nipples pierced and his hair in many braids.

I looked at the paper work that needed to be signed. As I began to fill it out, I felt someone call Maggie's name.

"Maggie!"

I assumed it was Luke. I turned over looking at what I believed to be Luke. He had shaggy dirty blonde hair, with hazels eyes. Once he came over to me I noticed he had a little mole on the corner of his full upper lip. He was tan too.

"Luke?" I asked.

"Hey did you need something. You acted weird over text".

"Actually yes," I said pulling him away from the girl with purple bangs who was getting signed up for whatever was going on as well. I made sure no one was looking. It was loud. Music was playing. In my normal accent I said, "I'm not actually Maggie. My name is Emma. I'm pretending to be her for two weeks while she's in London pretending to be me. I will call her right now for you to see". He began to laugh.

"Good one Mag, but you're not the best when it comes to accents. What's that supposed to be? A british accent.?"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm serious" I said, "I really need your help."

Before I could say anything else, the girl with the purple bangs grabbed my arm.

"Come on," she said," Your up."

"What do you mean I'm up," as I began to walk up on top of the ramp, "Oh no no no no! I cant do this! Luke I'm serious!" I yelled but he just watched and laugh. I was handed from some guy a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. Once when I had all the gear on, I was leaded to the top of the ramp.

"And now introducing Maggie Lee", said the speakers. Crowds watched as some guys in the stands cheered for me. "Crap I'm going to kill myself," I told myself. I began to walk away.

The girl with purple bangs yelled at me. "What are you doing?"

"I can't do this!" I hollered back. The crowd had began to "Boo" me. I had never been "BOOD" before.

"Oh fine", I said," If it proves to Luke that I'm not really Maggie then I'm just going to have to step of this thing".

Bad choice. I soon as I stepped off the top off the ramp onto the skateboard, I began to wobble off the board and before you knew it, I crashed rolling my body off the ramp as if I were a drag doll. "Ouchy", I said lying on my back. Luke and some other guys ran over.

"Are you okay", he asked as he and two others tried to pick me up off from the ground. "Believe me now", I said in my regular voice. He helped me take off the safety gear.

"Now I do", he said.

"Thank you. Now can we talk somewhere private", I said. With that after being checked by some nurse at the event, we walked over to a picnic table.

"Okay what's your real name again," Luke asked.

"I said it was Emma and why now do you believe me?"

"Because you dont have a scar underneath your brow", said Luke as he pointed at both of my brows. "And Maggie would never be that dumb at a competition especially if her biggest competion, Rachel was competing against her. I nodded.

"Look can you hand me my backpack", I asked, "I have my phone in it. We can contact Maggie and she'll prove that she's really in London." He agreed.

I began to dial her (my spare phone's number that Maggie had). No one answered. I did it twice and still no answer.

"Ugh she's not answering her phone. I will just have to explain everything to you myself". With that I told him the story. But not exactly everything. I made it sound like she was in on the plan from the beginning.
